Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia

Uniacke Estate Museum Park is the historic home and preserved estate of Richard John Uniacke at Mount Uniacke (c.1813). The Uniacke Estate is part of the Nova Scotia Museum system.

East Uniacke is a small community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in The Municipality of the District of East Hants in Hants County. East Uniacke Road is the main route passing through the area, connecting Trunk 1 to the south (via Etter Rd.) to Route 354 (Beaver Bank Road) to the north.

Lakelands is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Municipal District of East Hants Lakelands is provided Fire protection services by the Uniacke & District Fire Department, located approximately five kilometres away, in Mount Uniacke. It is a volunteer Fire Service, its members are well trained and equipped. Full policing services are provided to Lakelands by a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) detachment, located in Windsor, NS, approximately 10 kilometres west of Lakelands on Highway One. Primary to grade nine schooling is provided by the Uniacke District School located in Mount Uniacke, NS. It presently (2012) has a student body of approximately 440 students. High School service (grade 10 to 12) is provided students by Avon View High School located in Windsor. It presently has a student body of approximately 900 students (2012). The Town of Windsor, NS, is also home to King's - Edgehill School. A private school, founded in 1788, it is the oldest Independent School outside of the United Kingdom. Situated on a 65-acre campus King's - Edgehill provides both boarding and day schooling services. It offers a Junior School program for grades seven to nine and a Senior School for grades 10 to 12. Additionally it also offers an International Baccalaureate Program. It has been announced that a major development (1000+ acres) has been approved for land encompassing Cameron Lake between Adosise (West Hants) and Lakelands (East Hants). The development (Forest Lake Country Club) is to include a Nicklaus-designed 18 hole golf course, villas, townhouses, condominiums and amenities. This project has been approved by the West Hants authorities and is predicted to take 15 to 20 years to complete all phases, including an interchange linking it to Highway 101. The positive economic impact on Lakelands and the surrounding area is expected to be substantial if the project is successful.

Hillsvale is a small community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in The Municipality of the District of East Hants in Hants County. Hillsvale is located on the border between East Hants & West Hants. Hillsvale was once the home of the McClare Brothers Lumber Mill (McClare Bros. Ltd). As of November 2021, you can still see what remains of the buildings and the huge sawdust piles behind them.

South Rawdon is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Municipality of East HantsIt is a beautiful wooded area where the locals enjoy fishing, hunting, off-roading and other outdoor activities. Hammonds Plains, Upper Sackville and Beaver Bank is a planning area in the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The area wraps from Exit 5 on Highway 103 to the west of the urban core of Halifax, and runs north and east, wrapping clockwise around the harbour along the Hammonds Plains Road, Lucasville Road and Sackville Drive, through Upper Sackville to Beaverbank. Hammonds Plains lies at the neck of the Chebucto Peninsula along a road that runs from Bedford to the Head of St. Margarets Bay within the Halifax Regional Municipality Nova Scotia. Upper Sackville is a Canadian suburban community in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality. It is situated in the Sackville River valley immediately north of Middle Sackville and south of Mount Uniacke on Trunk 1. Upper Sackville is approximately 23 kilometers driving distance from downtown Halifax. Beaver Bank is a community northeast of Lower Sackville on the Beaver Bank Road (Route 354) within the Halifax Regional Municipality Nova Scotia that is 25 Kilometers from the community of Halifax.

Ardoise is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Municipal District of West Hants . Ardoise had a small gold mining industry from 1887 to 1904, and was named after its slate bedrock [ Ardoise means "slate" in french ].

Upper Sackville is a Canadian suburban community in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Before European colonization, the land was inhabited for thousands of years by the Mi'kmaq. Later, the community was named after George Germain, 1st Viscount Sackville. Upper Sackville is situated in the Sackville River valley immediately north of Middle Sackville and south of Mount Uniacke on Trunk 1. It is approximately 35 km (22 mi) by road from Downtown Halifax.

Tomahawk Lake (Halifax) is a lake of Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Tomahawk Lake watershed is approximately 1550 hectares and is managed by the Halifax Regional Water Commission as a potential future source of expansion to the municipality's drinking water supply.

Springfield Lake is a small lake located in Middle Sackville, Halifax Regional Municipality. The shoreline perimeter is 5.6 km, the mean depth is 3 m and the maximum depth is 5 m (Mandaville 2000). Springfield is a headwater lake that is fed solely by underground springs and runoff. Located in the Shubenacadie watershed, it ultimately feeds into the Bay of Fundy. It lies in pyretic slate bedrock that is high in hydrogen and sulphur (Kerekes et al. 1986). The shoreline is fully developed (lined by private homes and cottages) with over 530 houses in the 500 ha watershed. Homes on streets adjacent to the lake receive municipal sewage treatment. There is a HRM Water Pollution Control Plant (secondary sludge activation), constructed in 1987, that discharges effluent into a stream outflowing at the north end of the lake. There is a public beach at the northwestern end of the Lake.
