Muvattupuzha

Muvattupuzha was a Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala.

Nirmala Higher Secondary School is an English medium recognised unaided high school for boys and girls (Std. V-XII) following the Kerala syllabus and preparing the students for the SSLC and Higher Secondary Examinations. Thodupuzha River (Malayalam: തൊടുപുഴയാർ) has its origins in the Thodupuzha Taluk in the Idukki district of Kerala, India, and is a tributary of the Muvattupuzha river. The river is one of the few in the state that does not become dry in the summer as the outflow from the Idukki hydro-electric project is drained into this river via Kanjar river. The town Thodupuzha is on the banks of this river, hence it got the name Thodupuzha. Thodupuzha river and Kanjar is a major tourist attraction because of it serene landscapes and boating service. Kanjar is another major river which starts its journey from the Moolamattom powerhouse. Kanjar is fed by the water released after power generation from the powerplant. Kanjar is a perennial river and does not often become dry in summer although the water level may decrease significantly.

Nirmala College is a first grade arts and science college in Muvattupuzha, Kerala, India run by the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. The college admits undergraduates and post-graduates and offers degrees in the liberal arts, sciences and commerce. The college celebrated the golden jubilee in the academic year 2002–2003. The institution is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The college was Re accredited by NAAC With A++ (CGPA:3.73)Grade in April 2021.Nirmala College is governed by a management board consisting of 21 members. The Board meets at least four times a year and takes all important decisions concerning the governance of the college.

Koothattukulam is a municipality in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. It is located 32 km (19.9 mi) south of the district collectorate in Thrikkakara and about 156 km (96.9 mi) north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. Mary John Koothattukulam, Malayalam language poet who won Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Overall Contributions C. J. Thomas (1918–1960), an Indian playwright and literary critic of Malayalam literature. He was best known for his plays, Aa Manushyan Nee Thanne, Avan Venndum Varunnu and 1128-il Crime 27 which introduced modernity into Malayalam theatre. He was also a leader of the Vimochana Samaram, an anti-communist uprising against the First E. M. S. Namboodiripad ministry in Kerala. Shibu Chacko, Organ Donation Ambassador NHS Blood and Transplant UK[1], campaigner for organ donation awareness in the UK, was given Member of British Empire award in recognition of the community and voluntary activities. He is the first Keralite to receive the [Birthday Honours|MBE] from the British Royal Family in 2019.

Marady Grama Panchayath comes under Muvattupuzha assembly constituency, which in turn is a part of Idukki (Lok Sabha constituency). The Marady Grama Panchayath consists of thirteen wards and the present panchayath president is Sheri O.P. Baby udf .
