Boží Dar

The Fichtelberg (German pronunciation: [ˈfɪçtl̩bɛʁk]) is a mountain with two main peaks in the middle of the Ore Mountains in the east German state of Saxony, near the Czech border. At 1,214.6 m (3,985 ft) above sea level, the Fichtelberg is the highest mountain in Saxony, the second highest in the Ore Mountains and used to be the highest mountain in East Germany. Its subpeak is 1,206 m (3,957 ft) high.

The Božídarský Špičák (German: Gottesgaber Spitzberg) is the third highest mountain of the Ore Mountains. It lies in the Czech Republic near the highest town in Central Europe, Boží Dar.

The Fichtelberg Cable Car (German: Fichtelberg Schwebebahn) is a German cable car in the Ore Mountains in Saxony that runs from the town of Oberwiesenthal to the Fichtelberg mountain top. It is the oldest cable car in Germany, leading from the valley station at an altitude of 905 metres above sea level to the top station at 1,208 metres above sea level, having a length of 1,175 metres and a maximum upward gradient of 50 per cent. The Fichtelberg Cable Car is equipped with two carrying and two hauling cables. Operations began in December 1924. The Fichtelberg Cable Car temporarily ceased operation in 1948 due to lack of maintenance during World War II. After a major overhaul, it reopened in 1956. Another major renovation took place in 1984, when one of the support towers were removed and the others where relocated.

Jáchymov (Czech pronunciation: [ˈjaːxɪmof]; German: Sankt Joachimsthal or Joachimsthal) is a spa town in Karlovy Vary District in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,300 inhabitants. The historical core of the town from the 16th century is well preserved and protected by law as urban monument zone. It is a comprehensive set of Gothic–Renaissance patrician houses. Jáchymov has a long mining tradition, thanks to which it used to be the second most populous town in the Kingdom of Bohemia in 1534. At first silver was mined here. The silver Joachimsthaler coins minted here since the 16th century gave their name to the Thaler and the dollar. After the Wieliczka Salt Mine ceased industrial exploitation in 2007, the Svornost mine (1525) became the oldest mine still in use in Europe. It is also the first and for a long time the only mine in the world, where radium was mined. The mining cultural landscape of Jáchymov is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a part of the Ore Mountain Mining Region.

Klínovec (German: Keilberg) is the highest peak of the Ore Mountains, located in the Czech Republic's part of the mountains at 1,244 metres (4,081 ft). There is an 80 m TV broadcasting tower on the top of the mountain and a 24 meter high lookout tower. From the south side, the Jáchymov - Klínovec chairlift leads to the top (length 2,168 m and elevation 480 m), from the north side leads another chairlift Dámská (length 1,210 m and elevation 232 m).

Oberwiesenthal (German: [oː.bɐ.ˈviː.zn̩.taːl] (listen); officially Kurort Oberwiesenthal) is a town and a ski resort in the district of Erzgebirgskreis in Saxony in Germany. It is situated in the Ore Mountains, on the border with the Czech Republic, 19 km south of Annaberg-Buchholz, and 23 km northeast of Karlovy Vary. At 914 metres (2,999 ft), it is the highest town in Germany. The Olympic and World Championships goldmedalist in ski jumping Jens Weißflog competed for SC Tractor Oberwiesenthal and Oberwiesenthaler SV.

The Taufichtig is a 1,001-metre-high (3,284 ft) peak northwest of the Fichtelberg massif in the upper Ore Mountains in Germany.

Myslivny (German: Försterhäuser) is a locality within the territory of Boží Dar in the Czech Republic. It is formed by few scattered houses and the Myslivny Reservoir.

Loučná pod Klínovcem (until 1947 Český Wiesenthal; German: Böhmisch Wiesenthal) is a town in Chomutov District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 100 inhabitants and it is the second least populated town in the country.

The Sehma is a right tributary of the river Zschopau in the German federal state of Saxony and begins at the confluence of its headstreams the White Sehma (Weiße Sehma) and Red Sehma (Rote Sehma). The White Sehma rises in the Ore Mountains on the Fichtelberg (1,214 m) and flows northwards, parallel to the Zschopau. Above Neudorf it merges with the Red Sehma coming from Kretscham-Rothensehma (a district of Sehmatal), which enters from the right and itself begins at the confluence of the Lampertsbach and Stümpelbach streams a few kilometres earlier.In the valley of the combined Sehma are the long, narrow villages of Neudorf, Cranzahl and Sehma which belong to the municipality of Sehmatal. The Sehma continues to the merged town of Annaberg-Buchholz where it divides Buchholz in the west from Annaberg in the east, the two quarters having been independent towns until 1945. The Sehma valley is also home to the village of Frohnau and its well-known hammer mill, the Frohnauer Hammer. Above Wiesa the Sehma discharges into the Zschopau.
