Gunpo station

Gunpo (군포; Korean pronunciation: [kun.pʰo]), formerly romanized as Kunp'o, is a small city in South Korea's Gyeonggi Province, located south of Seoul in the Seoul National Capital Area. It borders Anyang to the north, Uiwang to the east, and Ansan to the south and west, and is connected to its neighbors and to Seoul by lines 1 and 4 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. Gunpo is also home to three stops on the Gyeongbu Line, a national railway that links it to the rest of the country. Although 73.2% of the city is greenspace, owing largely to Surisan and various smaller mountains, Gunpo is home to over 286,000 residents in several urban areas. The city's downtown core is Sanbon New Town, a commercial hub which centers on a pedestrian "street of culture" that Gunpo has designated as one of its eight scenic locations. Gunpo was promoted from town to city in 1989 due to the rapid urban and industrial growth of Seoul, and large-scale housing projects were immediately begun. Hansei University, a Christian institute of post-secondary learning, is in the city, as are forty-four other public schools and a number of private academies. With eighty-three percent of its citizens holding public library memberships, Gunpo touts itself as a book-reading city, and it also promotes itself as being environmentally friendly and in harmony with nature. Its resident include 2010 Olympic figure skating gold medalist Yuna Kim, who grew up in Gunpo after moving there at the age of six. Sightseeing locations around the city include the Banwol reservoir and the Royal Azaleas Hill, and Surisan is a hiking destination.

Dangjeong Station is an infill station on the Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 1. It serves the city of Gunpo in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea and is the subway station closest to Hansei University.

Hansei University (Korean pronunciation: [haːn.se]) is a mid-sized Evangelical Christian University located in Gunpo City near Seoul, South Korea.

Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages, or GAFL (경기외국어고등학교, 京畿外國語高等學校) is a foreign language high school located in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. It is equipped with two student dormitories, each for different genders, with its own dormitory inspectors as staff. Students are divided into eight classes per grade by language (English & Japanese, English & Chinese, Japanese, and Chinese) in which they would like to major. It was originally established under the name of Myongji Foreign Language High School on March 2, 2004 by Myongji Foundation. It was run as Myongji Foreign Language High School for 5 years, but due to declining financial situation of Myongji Foundation, the school was taken over by Bong-ahm Institute in 2008. Consequently, Bong-ahm Institute changed the name of the school to the current name of Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages, with changes in various areas, including the principal, school uniform, dormitory inspectors and operation of school cafeteria. Although it kept the original subjects, or "majors", GAFL's international department changed the curriculum of its international curriculum department to International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in 2011, making GAFL the first Korean high school to adopt the program. Currently, there are nine years worth of graduates, with alumni spread over diverse universities, including domestically prominent SKY (universities) and various universities abroad.

Sanbon Station is a railway station on Seoul Subway Line 4. It is located in Gunpo city.It is a main station to access 'Sanbon', a planned satellite city of Korea. It is between Geumjeong station and Surisan station and was opened on 1 May 1992. In 2015, Gunpo began to construct 8 escalator, that would be completed in the end of 2015. Sanbon Station is connected with New Core outlet.

The LS Tower (Korean: LS 타워, 엘에스 타워) is the headquarters of the Korean cable manufacturer LS Cable & System and is located in Anyang, South Korea. The construction works for the 20-story building began in 2006 and LS Cable & System moved its headquarters to LS Tower after its completion in 2008. LS Tower was built to host 1500 people, 17 of its 20 stories are above ground level and 3 below. The floors 4 to 10 belong to LS Industrial Systems, the 12th to the 17th to LS Cable & System and the 11th floor is occupied by LS Mtron. The floors below ground level host a fitness center, several stores and a café / restaurant as well as the building's parking lot. Also, an Woori Bank, as well as a small exhibition of LS Cable & System's products and the cafeteria are located on the first floor. On top of the tower, on the 17th floor, there is, apart from several meeting rooms, an Asian garden for the employees of LS Cable & System to relax and to spend their time during breaks.

Sanbon-dong is a dong, or neighborhood, in Gunpo, a satellite city of Seoul in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Its total area is 2.05 square kilometres (0.79 sq mi). Due to its population of more than 50,000, for administrative purposes the area is divided into two dong, Sanbon 1-dong and Sanbon 2-dong. Its name can be translated as "the mountain's root," and refers to its position at the base of Surisan's eastern flank. On the other side of Surisan (475 metres (1,558 ft)) lies Anyang City. The administrative entity of Sanbon was formed in 1914, as part of a general nationwide consolidation of local government under the Japanese occupation. At that time it was Sanbon-ri, a rural precinct of Siheung County. When it became part of the new Gunpo City in 1989, its status was changed from ri to dong. The name is believed to derive from Sanjeo, "low on the mountain," which was first used to describe the region in 1789.Seoul Subway Line 4 stops at Sanbon Station. Other landmarks include various Joseon Dynasty relics: a large kiln site, a shrine of the royal Jeonju Yi clan, and the tomb of 17th-century scholar Hoam Yi Gi-jo. There is an active garbage incineration plant (군포환경관리소) in Sanbon-dong.

Geumjeong Station is a ground-level metro station on lines 1 and 4 of the Seoul Subway network in South Korea. The station is in Gunpo, a city approximately 15 km (9.3 mi) south of Seoul in Gyeonggi Province, between the cities of Anyang and Suwon. The name means that the land is covered with waves everywhere and that the water wets women's clothes.Geumjeong is an important transfer point for passengers travelling to and from southern and western Gyeonggi Province to Seoul Grand Park and Seoul Racecourse Park. The tracks are aligned to allow passengers to transfer between lines 1 and 4 on the same platform. On December 30, 2019, there was an additional stop at Geumjeong Station on Line 1.
