Toorak Art Gallery was an art gallery 277 Toorak Road, South Yarra, Melbourne, Victoria, which specialised in contemporary figurative and abstract Australian art. It was in operation from 1964 to 1975.

Gallery A was a mid-century Australian gallery that exhibited contemporary Australian art. It was established in 1959 at 60 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, and then relocated to 275 Toorak Rd., South Yarra. A second Gallery A venue was opened and run concurrently at 21 Gipps Street, Paddington in Sydney from 1964, and a third in Canberra (1964, closed 1970). The Sydney business largely displaced the Melbourne gallery, which also closed in 1970, and continued until 1983. Its founder was Max Hutchinson and other directors during the history of the gallery at its three venues included Clement Meadmore, James Mollison, Janet Dawson and Ann Lewis.

Prahran Market is a food market in South Yarra, an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Located on Commercial Road near Chapel Street, it was established in neighbouring Prahran in the 1860s before moving to its present location in 1881. The market has a variety of stalls and specialty shops selling fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and deli foods, as well as cafes. The market is open every day except Mondays and Wednesdays, with select traders operating on Sundays.

Australian musicals performed at Chapel Off Chapel include Prodigal Son, Life's A Circus, Only Heaven Knows, Tea with Oscar, Joe Starts Again and All Het Up. Chapel Off Chapel also regularly hosts Home Grown, a showcase for new Australian musical theatre works. Performers who have appeared at Home Grown events include Todd McKenney, Amanda Harrison, Lucy Durack, Virginia Gay and Kerrie Anne Greenland.The bluestone building is converted from the former Independent Church, built in 1858-9.

Pran Central is a heritage-listed seven storey Edwardian baroque architectural style former department store, built in 1915 as Read’s Store, comprising a shopping centre with apartments above. The building is located on the corner of Chapel Street and Commercial Road in the well-known retail precinct of Prahran, a suburb in the city of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The shopping centre occupies the lower ground, ground floor and first floor mezzanine, with approximately 45 specialty stores along with a food court.

South Yarra railway station is the junction station for the Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston and Sandringham lines in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of South Yarra, and opened on 22 December 1860 as Gardiners Creek Road. The Centre for Higher Education Studies (abbreviated as CHES) is a government-funded co-educational senior secondary school located in Melbourne, Australia. The construction of CHES was completed in 2022 and blended on-site and online programs commenced in January 2023.CHES was established to further improve educational outcomes for high-achieving and high-ability senior secondary school students across Victoria. The multistorey centre includes an auditorium, technology-rich learning spaces and tertiary-standard science and design labs. Students remain enrolled at their secondary school and can undertake a course at CHES as part of their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). Hawksburn railway station is located on the Frankston line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of South Yarra, and opened on 7 May 1879.The station is named after the Hawksburn Estate, in which it was built.The current station buildings were completed in 1914, as part of the quadruplication and grade separation of the railway between South Yarra and Caulfield.

It was the largest Australian independent hip hop label, including performers Pegz, Thundamentals and Dialectrix. Obese Records also operated two retail stores in Melbourne, a record distribution company, a soul imprint named Plethora Records, and operates the artists' management and touring company Obese Records Artist Management.

Melbourne High School is a government-funded single-sex academically selective secondary day school for boys, located in the Melbourne suburb of South Yarra, Victoria, Australia. Established in 1905, the school caters for boys from Year 9 to Year 12 and is known mainly for its strong academic reputation.Melbourne High School had the leading rank based on VCE average, with its 2009 cohort achieving a median ATAR of 95.85, the highest of any Victorian school in recorded history. Students have achieved very strong results in the VCE examinations, and placements at tertiary institutions are at a rate well above Victoria's average. The school has a compulsory involvement program, including involvement within school and within the broader community. Its ethos encourages investment of effort into academic, sporting, musical, leadership, and personal pursuits. It was also the first school in Australia to establish a Student Representative Council, with the assistance of Sir Robert Menzies. In addition, the school owns an outdoor education facility in Millgrove, which lies near the Warburton ranges. Throughout this history, enrolment for year 9 has been determined by an entrance examination, held in June each year. The entrance examination consists of an assessment of the applicant's mathematics and English skills. In 2007, 308 Year 9s entered the school, out of over 1,200 students who undertook the examination.The school was founded in 1905 as the first co-educational state secondary school in Victoria. Melbourne High School was originally located in Spring Street in Melbourne. In 1927, the boys and girls split, with the boys moving to a new school at Forrest Hill in the inner city suburb of South Yarra which retained the name Melbourne High School. The girls eventually moved to the Mac.Robertson Girls' High School on Kings Way, Melbourne. In 2010, The Age reported that Melbourne High School ranked equal tenth among Australian schools based on the number of alumni who had received a top Order of Australia honour.
