Philomont is an unincorporated community in western Loudoun County, Virginia. The name is derived from the Greek word philo meaning "beloved" and the French word mont or "mountain"; Philomont means "beloved mountain."

Foxcroft School, founded in 1914 by Charlotte Haxall Noland, is a college-preparatory boarding and day school for girls in grades 9-12, located near Middleburg, Virginia, United States. In its century of existence, Foxcroft has educated the daughters of corporate titans and congressmen, including women from the Rockefeller, Carnegie, Mellon, Auchincloss and Astor families. It is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools and the National Association of Independent Schools, and is a founding member of the National Coalition of Girls' Schools.

Historic Rutledge Farm[1] is a Grand Prix and hunter/jumper facility, in Middleburg, Virginia, owned by Rutledge Farm, LLC (Aleco Bravo-Greenberg and Mrs. Hermen Greenberg). Built in 1740, it was most recently owned by Aleco's late step-father, Mr. Hermen Greenberg, who had built it into a world-class Thoroughbred breeding operation.

Farmer's Delight was built in Loudoun County, Virginia in 1791 by Colonel Joseph Flavius Lane. The Federal style brick plantation house incorporates elements of Georgian architecture. The house is now closely associated with American oilman and diplomat George C. McGhee, who owned the property after 1948. The house is maintained by the McGhee Foundation and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Leithtown is an unincorporated village in Loudoun County, Virginia. Leithtown lies to the west of Goose Creek at the crossroads of Foxcroft, Pot House, and Mountville roads. It is the home of the Foxcroft School and saw cavalry action in the Battle of Middleburg and Battle of Upperville in 1863.

The Oakham Farm is a historic farm at 23226 Oakham Farm Lane, near Middleburg in Loudoun County, Virginia. The farm includes 100 acres (40 ha) of land north of United States Route 50, with its building complex anchored by a farmhouse built in 1847 and repeatedly altered. The main portion of the farmhouse is a 1920s three-story Classical Revival block, which has the original 1847 two-story Greek Revival house attached as an ell to one side, along with another c. 1840 structure that may have functioned as a separate kitchen. The property was first developed by the Peyton family, with its present buildings dating to the ownership of the Rogers family. During the American Civil War, Oakham was where the irregular Confederate Army unit known as Mosby's Rangers was organized.The farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Furr Farm is a historic home and farm located at Aldie, Loudoun County, Virginia. The house is a two-story, five bay, frame structure with a side gable roof and exterior end chimneys. The property includes two contributing frame barns.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The Glebe of Shelburne Parish is a house built as a glebe in rural Loudoun County, Virginia around 1775 to attract a cleric to preach in the Shelburne Parish of the Anglican Church. Shelburne Parish, named for the Earls of Shelburne, desired in 1771 that a minister preach at Leesburg, Virginia every three months. The absence of a glebe and glebe lands detracted from efforts to recruit a parson, so in 1773 the parish purchased 473 acres (191 ha) and built a house on the property.The two-story brick house stands on a hilltop overlooking Goose Creek. There are five bays, of which two may have been added. A two-bay kitchen wing is appended. The interior, which by vestry order was to include one large room 20 feet (6.1 m) by 20 feet (6.1 m) and another 18 feet (5.5 m) by 19 feet (5.8 m), follows a hall-and-parlor plan. The interior may not have been completed until after the American Revolution, as its detailing is Greek Revival in character. The property includes a number of outbuildings, including an ice house and a kitchen.Virginia ordered the sale of all glebes in 1802, but the parish resisted. Legal action was not settled until 1830, and the property was finally sold in 1840. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 1, 1975. The Shelburne Glebe is contained within the larger Goose Creek Historic District, a rural landscape.

Mount Gilead is an unincorporated community in Loudoun County, Virginia. Mount Gilead lies atop an 602 ft (183 m) peak of Catoctin Mountain to the east of the North Fork Goose Creek.

Dover is an unincorporated community in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. Dover is located east of Middleburg at the intersection of U.S. Route 50, Champe Ford Road (SR 629 south), and Cobb House Road (SR 629 north). The Little River begins following Route 50 at this point. Dover as a geographical entity is somewhat exaggerated, seeing as the bend in Route 50 it refers to consists of only few houses, but it has a long pedigree as a named area, appearing on state and national maps. Most likely, its status as a geographical entity stems from the fact that the Little River Turnpike (first toll road in America) and Aldie-Ashby's Gap Turnpike terminated approximately together here, 1.3 miles west of Aldie.
