Centennial Place (Calgary)

Devon Tower (formerly known as Canterra Tower) is a skyscraper in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Located at 400 3rd Avenue SW, it stands at 177 metres (581 ft) or 45 storeys tall. The building was completed in 1988 and was designed by WZMH Architects in the postmodern style. It was built with glass curtain walls on all sides. The building is owned and managed by global real estate investor, developer and owner Oxford Properties, and major tenants in the building include Devon Canada, an oil and gas company and Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, one of Canada's largest law firms.

The neighbourhood of Eau Claire in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is located immediately north of Downtown, and south of the Bow River and north of 4th Avenue. A mix of riverside condominiums, shopping, restaurants, hotels, a large public plaza and urban parkland make Eau Claire one of Calgary's most popular areas. Contained within Eau Claire is the city's Festival District. The area, which was developed from reclaimed industrial land, fronts the Bow River and sits immediately north of 3rd Avenue South. North of Eau Claire is Prince's Island Park, a large urban park on an island in the Bow River and the site of many summer festivals, including the Calgary Folk Music Festival, Carifest, Shakespeare in the Park and various busking happenings. Within Eau Claire is Eau Claire Market and a variety of pubs and restaurants. It is also located on the city's large network of pedestrian pathways and trails, along the Bow River pathway.

CKRY's studios are located on 17th Ave SW near Westbrook Mall, while its transmitter is located at 85th Street Southwest and Old Banff Coach Road in western Calgary. As of Winter 2020, CKRY is the 5th-most-listened-to radio station in the Calgary market according to a PPM data report released by Numeris. Country 105 has been awarded Station of the Year several times, most recently in 2019.A transmitter located in Banff, Alberta, rebroadcasts the station at 93.3 FM. In December 2015, CKRY launched HD Radio services, becoming the first station in Alberta to do so. Their HD2 sub-channel airs a simulcast of sister station CHQR. On April 1. 2016, Corus acquired Shaw Media, giving CKRY two TV stations (CISA and CICT) for additional sister networks. CKRY is simulcast across Canada on Bell Satellite TV satellite channel 968.

Calgary-Buffalo is a current provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 districts mandated to return a single member (MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. Calgary-Buffalo is currently represented by NDP MLA Joe Ceci. The riding comprises primarily the downtown core of the city of Calgary. The riding has broad demographic diversity, and comprises the most transient population in Alberta. The riding contains a mix of corporate office towers, luxury apartment buildings, Chinatown in the north part of the riding and lower income apartments in the south along the Beltline community. The Liberals have won this riding seven times, the Progressive Conservatives six, and the New Democrats twice, while the Alberta Reform Movement was represented very briefly. Due to the nature of the riding, candidates have a tougher time running a campaign, as traditional campaign methods — i.e., placement of lawn signs, door knocking, and voter identification — have proven to be of limited usefulness. The riding was created in 1971, largely out of the old Calgary Centre riding and a small portion of the eastern part of Calgary West.

Downtown Calgary is a dense urban district in central Calgary, Alberta. It contains the second largest concentration of head offices in Canada, despite only being the country's fourth largest city in terms of population. The downtown is divided into several residential, commercial, corporate, and mixed-use neighbourhoods, including the Financial District (CBD), Eau Claire, Chinatown, East Village, Beltline, and the West End.Downtown Calgary is bordered by 14th Street W. on the west, the Bow River and Prince's Island Park on the north, the Elbow River on the east and the CPR mainline tracks on the south. The neighbourhoods of the Beltline and Mission to the immediate south are often considered part of downtown, due to the high concentrations of businesses, high population densities, and occurrence of retail and nightlife opportunities, but strictly speaking they are not technically part of downtown. The population of Calgary's downtown has grown substantially in recent years, growing by several thousand between 2011 and 2016. With the population of the five combined downtown neighbourhoods surpassing 18,000 as of 2016, Downtown Calgary now has a significantly larger population than that of other Canadian cities of similar size, such as Ottawa and Edmonton. While downtown Calgary continues to grow, the Beltline neighbourhood to the immediate south, with a population of 21,958 as of 2016, is taking up the majority of residential development in inner city Calgary.Calgary Transit's CTrain light rail system runs down 7th Avenue S. through the middle of downtown in an east–west direction, and the ride is free on this section. The future Green Line will run underground through downtown under 2nd Street, in a north–south direction.

Jamieson Place is a 880,000-square-foot (82,000 m2) office building in the city's downtown core of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. At the time of its completion in 2009, the 173 m (568 ft) Jamiseson Place was the third tallest office tower in Calgary. The building's winter garden is home to three hanging glass chandeliers by artist Dale Chihuly.

First Canadian Centre is an office tower in Calgary, Alberta designed by Donald C. Smith (1929–2014) of the New York firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It was the second SOM project in Calgary after Toronto-Dominion Square, which is on the neighbouring block to the south. The project was intended to include 41-storey and 64-storey towers connected by a banking hall. However, due to the early 1980s recession, the taller tower was never completed. Located at 350 7 Avenue SW in the city's downtown core, it stands at 167 metres (548 ft) or 41 storeys tall. The skyscraper has a floor area of 48,275 m2 (519,630 sq ft) and was built in the international and late modernist architectural styles.The Bank of Montreal occupies most of the ground floor with a large retail bank branch.
