Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium is an American football stadium in Morgantown, West Virginia, on the campus of West Virginia University. It opened in 1980 and serves as the home field for the West Virginia Mountaineers football team. On the day the stadium opened, at an opening ceremony, John Denver touched down on the field in a helicopter, performed the song "Take Me Home, Country Roads," and then immediately departed by helicopter. The facility is named for Milan Puskar, a Morgantown resident and founder of Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. who donated $20 million to the university in 2004. The playing surface retains the stadium's original name of Mountaineer Field, which was also the name of WVU's previous football stadium. The stadium’s design was inspired by Jack Trice Stadium, which opened a few years earlier at Iowa State University.

The Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is an independent, non-profit institution focused on the study of human memory and memory diseases. Founded in 1999, the institute is part of the West Virginia University Medicine Health Sciences Campus, located in Morgantown, West Virginia. The institute is one of the world's leading research centers focusing on innovative procedures to treat Alzheimer's disease and to expand clinical, research and academic missions of neurosurgery, neurology, behavioral medicine, psychiatry and other neuroscience issues.

J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the flagship hospital of the West Virginia University Health System, located in Morgantown, West Virginia. A 690-bed tertiary care center, Ruby is also the largest hospital in the health system and serves as the academic medical center of the West Virginia University School of Medicine. J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is home to several medical institutes, including the WVU Cancer Institute, WVU Critical Care and Trauma Institute, WVU Eye Institute, WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, WVU Medicine Children's, and the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute.In 1984, in honor of her late husband, John Wesley Ruby, Morgantown philanthropist Hazel Ruby McQuain made an $8 million donation toward the construction of the new hospital. The donation, the largest in West Virginia history at the time, saw the hospital bear Mr. Ruby's name; he remains the hospital's namesake to this day.

The West Virginia University School of Dentistry is the dental school of West Virginia University. It is located in the United States city of Morgantown. The school opened its doors in 1957 and is the only dental school in West Virginia.

The West Virginia University School of Medicine is the professional school for the study of medicine and other health professions at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. The medical school was established in 1902 as the first such institution in the state of West Virginia, and remains one of only three medical schools in the state. The school is organized into three campuses. The main campus in Morgantown is located in the WVU Health Sciences Center, a 2,000,000 sq.ft. medical complex that is also home to the Schools of Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health. All medical students spend their first two years before moving on to complete their clinical work during their final two years in the program. Students can choose to complete their rotations at either the Morgantown campus, the Charleston Campus in the state capital of Charleston or the Eastern Campus in Martinsburg. Students who remain in Morgantown will practice at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, a 690-bed academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center. Charleston Campus is located the Charleston Area Medical Center's Memorial Hospital campus. WVU's Eastern Campus provides a community-based, direct clinical experience and teaches students in Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg and Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson. All hospitals are part of the WVU Medicine system.

Morgantown Personal Rapid Transit (WVU PRT) is a personal rapid transit (PRT) system in Morgantown, West Virginia, United States. The system connects the three Morgantown campuses of West Virginia University (WVU) and the city's downtown area. Developed from the Alden staRRcar and built by a consortium led by Boeing Vertol, the driverless system was a government-funded experiment in PRT systems. Upon its opening in 1975 with three stations, it had a fitful start, being three years behind schedule and costing 3–4 times more than estimated. It was expanded in 1978 to its current five stations, two maintenance depots, and over 70 vehicles. Like all PRT systems, stations are built on sidings, which allows vehicles to bypass stations and permits express trips between any two stations. While the system achieved reliability upwards of 98% for most of its life, its reliability declined in the 2000s – dipping to 90% by 2015 – and it gained a reputation for unreliability. In response, a renewal project was approved in 2012, which has so far replaced the vehicle control and propulsion systems, replaced parts of the power supply, and repaired other infrastructure. A new vehicle control system was commissioned in 2018, and the vehicle fleet is also being replaced.The system has operated reliably, and currently is in full operational service as of November 2021, transporting students and staff daily.

Seneca Glass Company Building, now called Seneca Center, is a historic glass factory located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. It was built by the Seneca Glass Company in 1896–1897, and is an industrial complex of work areas, all connected by doors, passageways, or bridges. A fire in 1902, destroyed much of the interior of the original brick part of the complex. After the fire, Elmer F. Jacobs designed the new two-story replacement, a new Needle Etching Room in a separate building connected by a bridge, and the reconstruction of the Grinding, Glazing, and Cutting areas. A large addition was built in 1947. The building features a conical brick stack that projects 36 feet above the roofline of the Furnace / Blowing Room. The complex was the home of one of the finest hand-blown, hand-cut and etched, lead glass factories in the world. After the factory closed in 1983, it was adapted for commercial use.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Fourth Ward School, also known as the Wiles Hill School, is a historic school building located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. It consists of the original 1910 school building with two historic additions from 1939 and 1952, and the 1983 gymnasium building. It is a two-story, red brick, Romanesque Revival building on a raised basement and water table of ashlar sandstone. The 1939 rear addition was built as a Public Works Administration project and has plain Art Deco style trim The 1939 addition contains a stage and an auditorium / cafeteria.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

West Virginia University (WVU) is a public land-grant research university with its main campus in Morgantown, West Virginia. Its other campuses are those of the West Virginia University Institute of Technology in Beckley, Potomac State College of West Virginia University in Keyser, and clinical campuses for the university's medical and school at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston and the Eastern Division at the WVU Medicine Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Centers. WVU Extension Service provides outreach with offices in all 55 West Virginia counties. Enrollment for the Fall 2021 semester was 25,474 for the main campus, while enrollment across all three non-clinical campuses was 28,267. The Morgantown campus offers more than 350 bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and professional degree programs throughout 13 colleges and schools, including that state’s only law and dental schools.The university has produced 25 Truman Scholars, 47 Goldwater Scholars, 88 Gilman Scholars, and 70 Fulbright Scholars. 25 Rhodes Scholars are WVU alumni, including former WVU president David C. Hardesty, Jr.

Mountaineer Field, known as the "Jewel of the Mountains", was a football stadium located in downtown Morgantown, West Virginia. It was the home of the West Virginia Mountaineers football team. The stadium, which cost approximately $740,000 to build, was located down the hill from Woodburn Hall, and bordered by Campus Drive to the north, University Avenue to the east, Woodburn and Chitwood Halls to the south, and eventually Beechurst Avenue on the west. It was built into the natural valley of the area, and was a square-cornered horseshoe. The stadium opened on September 27, 1924 with a 21–6 win against West Virginia Wesleyan College. It held 38,000 by the time it closed, after a 24–17 loss in the 1979 Backyard Brawl to archrival Pitt. Due to the cramped location, it could not be expanded, and infrastructure could not be improved. Thus, in 1980, a new Mountaineer Field was opened on the site of the Morgantown Country Club to the north of the Downtown (main) campus, on what has become the Health Sciences campus. The historic stadium was razed in 1987. The Life Sciences Building inhabits the area of the north stands, and Field Hall (formerly known as the Business and Economics building) inhabits the south. The former location of the playing field remains open as a field between the two buildings. At the southwestern corner, there is a horseshoe-shaped monument to the stadium that was erected in 2005.

Oglebay Hall is a historic classroom building associated with the West Virginia University and located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. It was built in 1918, and is a three-story, brick and concrete building with Classical Revival detailing. The front facade features four Doric order columns that support a pediment with a false, concrete railing and entablature with the building's name. It also has balconies with cast iron balustrades. It originally housed the university's College of Agriculture (until 1961) and represents the university's heritage as a land-grant institution. The building is named for industrialist and philanthropist Earl W. Oglebay, whose house at Wheeling, West Virginia is known as the Oglebay Mansion Museum.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The John Chambers College of Business and Economics is the business school of West Virginia University, a state university located in Morgantown in the U.S. State of West Virginia. The college building is in the downtown campus of the university. The college offers ten undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) programs and one Bachelor of Science in Economics program, seven master programs, and doctoral programs throughout its six departments.
