Smoke Creek (also known as Da-deo-da-na-suk-to ("bend in the shore"), Smoke's Creek or Smokes Creek) is a small stream in Erie County, New York. It originates southwest of East Aurora and flows into Lake Erie at Lackawanna. The height above sea level is 174 metres (571 ft). A left tributary is the South Branch Smoke Creek. The watershed area of Smoke Creek measures about 85 square kilometres (33 sq mi).The creek is named after "Old Smoke," the English name for Sayenqueraghta, a prominent Seneca chief.

Woodlawn Beach State Park is a 107-acre (0.43 km2) park located near the village of Blasdell on the eastern shore of Lake Erie in Erie County, New York. It was opened as a state park in 1996, and has been operated since 2011 by the Town of Hamburg under a ten-year agreement with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

On November 9, 2016, around 7:30 a.m., a major fire broke out at a 1-million-square-foot (93,000 m2) galvanizing warehouse that was formerly part of the now-vacated Bethlehem Steel complex in Lackawanna, New York, just south of Buffalo. The fire was said to have been caused by a hot bulb which fell and struck cardboard inside of the building, igniting the structure, although this has not been confirmed. Subsequently, a thick ash cloud extended 30 mi (48 km) south of the accident site, viewable from Canada, Eden, New York, and weather radars. Hundreds of firefighters from area departments, including the Buffalo Fire Department, assisted in rescue operations, which resulted in one injury.

Buffalo Stamping Plant manufactures sheetmetal stampings and welded sub-assemblies for Ford Motor Company's automotive car and truck assembly plants in the USA, Canada and Mexico. The facility was opened in 1950 with 1,235,895 square feet (114,818.4 m2) of working floor space. It has had six major expansions and the facility is now at 2,452,883 square feet (227,880.3 m2) or 53.3 acres (216,000 m2) of floor space. Buffalo Stamping is currently in the process of adding 30,000 square feet on to the structure. The plant is located on an 88-acre (360,000 m2) site at the Eastern end of Lake Erie near the city of Buffalo, New York. The facility processes over 1,700 tons of steel each day and ships an average of 100 rail cars of parts manufactured daily. During the year, over 425,000 tons of steel are received for manufacturing at the facility. The facility has 20 major press stamping lines that include several transfer presses which include some of the world's largest. One of those large transfer presses is the Schuler. This press is 162 feet (49 m) long, 49 feet (15 m) high from the basement to the top of the crown and weights in excess of 7,000,000 pounds. Buffalo Stamping supplies components to two Ford Motor Company assembly plants: Oakville Assembly which assembles the Ford Edge, and Lincoln MKX, and the Kentucky Truck Plant. The facility supplies a total of 15 facilities, including Ford assembly plants and Ford part distribution depots. The facility recently received a recommendation for endorsement to the International ISO 14001 Standard for Environmental Management Systems. Buffalo Stamping Plant is the first major stamping facility in North America to receive this endorsement. Buffalo Stamping is also certified to ISO 9001 International Standard for Quality since 1996.

Saint Francis High School is a Catholic, private college preparatory high school for young men that operates under the administration of Our Lady of the Angels Province of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual in Athol Springs, New York within the Diocese of Buffalo. The school was founded in 1927 by Fr. Justin Figas, OFM Conv. The school is accredited by the New York State Board of Regents and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Athol Springs is a hamlet in the town of Hamburg in Erie County, New York, United States.

Buffalo Harbor North and South entrance Lights are lighthouses located at the entrance to Buffalo harbor in New York. The south light is at Stony Point breakwater (known also as the Buffalo Harbor South Entrance Light), and the North light was relocated. The lighthouses were established and lit in 1903, automated in 1935; the North light was deactivated in the 1980s. The South light is still operational. The foundation materials are dressed stone and timber for the south light and concrete pier on crib for the North light. The lighthouses were constructed out of cast iron boiler plate. The tower has a conical bottle shape. It is white, with a black lantern. The original lenses installed in 1903 were fourth (south) and sixth order (North) Fresnel lenses.

Buffalo Harbor South Entrance Light, also known as the South Buffalo Southside Light or Buffalo South Breakwater, South Entrance Light Station, is a lighthouse at Stony Point at the entrance to Buffalo Harbor, Buffalo, New York. It was established in 1903 and deactivated in 1993. It was replaced by a nearby modern post light. The lighthouse property consists of a three-story cast iron 43.5-foot (13.3 m) decommissioned light tower topped with a lantern; one-story concrete fog signal building and an L-shaped concrete pier.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church complex located at Buffalo in Erie County, New York. The church was completed in 1928 and is a Neo-Gothic style edifice. It is built of cream and gray colored stone with a red ceramic tile roof. Also on the property is a Queen Anne style rectory (1910) and concrete block garage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

South Buffalo North Side Light is a lighthouse formerly located at the entrance to Buffalo Harbor, Buffalo, New York. It is one of two "bottle shaped" beacons located in Buffalo Harbor; the other is the Buffalo North Breakwater South End Light. It is a 29-foot (8.8 m) high beacon constructed of boiler plate. It measures 10 feet 3⁄4 inch (3.067 m) at the bottom and 2 feet 3 inches (0.69 m) at the top. It is distinguished by four cast iron port windows and a curved iron door. It was first lit on September 1, 1903, and originally equipped with a 6th-order Fresnel lens. A battery operated 12 volt lamp with a 12-inch (300 mm) green plastic lens was installed in the beacon c. 1960, when a domed roof formerly mounted over the lens was removed. The beacon was removed in 1985, and now stands at the gate to the Dunkirk Lighthouse and Veterans Park Museum. Its twin is located on the grounds of the Buffalo (main) Light. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

WWKB (1520 AM) is a commercial radio station in Buffalo, New York. It broadcasts a sports gambling format and is owned and operated by Audacy, Inc. It is one of two sports radio stations owned by Audacy in the Buffalo radio market, with WGR primarily broadcasting local sports programming. The studios are on Corporate Parkway in Amherst, New York. The station used the WKBW callsign from its 1926 founding until 1986, and had periods broadcasting pop-rock music and talk radio. WWKB broadcasts with a power of 50,000 watts, the maximum permitted for AM stations in the U.S. It is one of two 50,000 watt AM stations in Western New York, along with WHAM in Rochester. WWKB is a clear channel station, sharing its Class A status on 1520 kHz with KOKC in Oklahoma City. WWKB uses a directional antenna with a three-tower array. Its transmitter site is shared with WGR on Big Tree Road in Blasdell, New York. WWKB's primary daytime signal covers all of Western New York, including Rochester, as well as the Southern Tier. It provides secondary coverage to much of Southern Ontario, including Toronto, and can be heard as far east as Kingston. At night, to mutually protect KOKC from interference, it must direct its signal eastward. Thus, while WWKB can be heard across most of the eastern half of North America at night, its signal is spotty only 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Buffalo. Local residents remain largely unaware that the antenna array is internationally famous for sending WWKB's nighttime signal to the outskirts of Stockholm on a regular basis. The directional nighttime signal has resulted the station being commonly heard in parts of Sweden during winter months. A group of Scandinavian radio reception enthusiasts visited for conference at a Camp Road motel, to view the transmitter array, apparently to photograph and measure it.
