Deaf Hill

Trimdon railway station served the village of Trimdon, County Durham, England, from 1871 to 1952 on the Great North of England, Clarence and Hartlepool Junction Railway.

Trimdon Colliery is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated a few miles to the west of Hartlepool, and a short distance to the north of Trimdon. Its most famous resident was the former Prime Minister, Tony Blair.

Wingate Quarry is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in the County Durham district of east County Durham, England. Part of the site is also a Local Nature Reserve It is a disused quarry located just south of the village of Wheatley Hill. The quarry was worked for Magnesian Limestone until the 1930s, when it closed. Since then a large and varied grassland has developed on the site. Magnesian limestone grassland is nationally scarce, with this site accounting for close to 8 percent of the national total. As well as species that are characteristic of this vegetation type, there are also two orchids, fragrant orchid, Gymnadenia conopsea, and frog orchid, Coeloglossum viride, both of which are uncommon in County Durham.

Trimdon Grange Wind Farm is an onshore wind farm near Trimdon Grange, County Durham, England. Commissioned in October 2008 it consists of four 1.3 MW Nordex N60 turbines giving a total capacity of 5.2 MW. It was developed by EDF and is operated by Cumbria Wind Farms.The proposed location of the wind farm caused controversy in 2004 when an agent of Tony Blair, then Prime Minister, wrote to a local action group, Trimdon Area Group Against Wind Farms, claiming that the site was unsuitable. The location is about one mile from Tony Blair's old constituency house.

Charity Land is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Sedgefield district of County Durham, England. It covers an area on both banks of the River Skerne, just to the north-east of the village of Trimdon. The habitat of the site is unimproved neutral grassland, underlain by magnesian limestone. Once widespread on the limestone plateau of eastern Durham, such grasslands have mostly been destroyed by modern agricultural practices, the few remaining areas being small and highly fragmented. Charity Land is important as one of the few remaining examples of this habitat. The fields are dominated by grass species, but a variety of grassland forbs are present.

Wheatley Hill is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated to the west of Peterlee, near Thornley and Wingate. Until 2009 it was part of Easington district.

Wheatley Hill Stadium is a greyhound racing stadium in Wheatley Hill, County Durham. It is situated to the west of Peterlee, near Thornley and Wingate. It is currently closed following a serious fire but usually races on Friday evenings at 7.15pm, Facilities included a club, bar, and tote which were destroyed in the fire.

Trimdon is a village in County Durham, in England (earlier Tremeldon (1196) or Tremedon (1262)). It is 9 miles west of Hartlepool, and adjacent to Trimdon Colliery, Trimdon Grange and Deaf Hill (also known as Trimdon Station). Locally, to distinguish it from these it is known as Trimdon Village or simply "The Village". The main focal point of "The Village" is Saint Mary Magdalene church, which was constructed during the Norman period (approximately 1145AD). Trimdon Labour Club (now closed) was the setting for some of the former prime minister and constituency MP, Tony Blair's constituency speeches. Blair's constituency home was in nearby Trimdon Colliery.

Trimdon Labour Club was a bar and local branch of Sedgefield Labour Party in the village of Trimdon, County Durham in England. It opened in 1993, as a conversion of a former Working Men's Club. It was the local Labour Club of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who lived in nearby Trimdon Colliery.

Trimdon Limestone Quarry is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Sedgefield district of County Durham, England. It lies about 1 km west of the village of Trimdon Grange and about 5 km east of the village of Coxhoe. The site is an abandoned quarry and exposed to a section of the Ford Formation of Late Permian magnesian limestone. The site is nationally important for an interpretation of the geological history of the Ford Formation carbonates. The abandoned quarry workings include an area of floristically-rich magnesian limestone grassland, a habitat which is nationally scarce in Britain, with only an estimated 270 ha remaining.The site is part of a larger area that is managed by the Durham Wildlife Trust as the Trimdon Grange Quarry nature reserve.
