Urshan Graduate School of Theology

St. Stanislaus Seminary is a former Society of Jesus (Jesuits) seminary that was founded in 1823 on the outskirts of Florissant, Missouri within the current municipal limits of Hazelwood, Missouri. It was the longest continuously operated Jesuit novitiate in the United States.

Urshan College, formerly known as Gateway College of Evangelism, is a Christian College in Wentzville, Missouri. It is owned and operated by the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI). In 2012, the college was acquired by Urshan Graduate School of Theology.

Chicago and Southern Air Lines Flight 4 was a regularly scheduled flight from New Orleans, Louisiana to Chicago, Illinois via Jackson, Mississippi; Memphis, Tennessee; and St. Louis, Missouri operated with a Lockheed Model 10 Electra. On August 5, 1936, after departing from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, the flight crashed in a farm field near the Missouri River. All 6 passengers and 2 crew members were killed in the crash.

Cowmire Creek (sometimes spelled Cow Mire Creek) is a stream in St. Louis County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Missouri River. Cowmire Creek was so named on account of its often miry condition.

Old St. Ferdinand Shrine and Historic Site is located at no. 1 rue St. Francois, Florissant, Missouri, and is owned, preserved, maintained, and protected by the non-profit organization, Friends of Old St. Ferdinand, Inc. The Shrine and Historic Site consists of four historic buildings on their original locations: the 1819 convent, 1821 church, 1840 rectory, and 1888 schoolhouse. It was the center of St. Ferdinand Parish, and the area which became the city of Florissant was also known as the city of St. Ferdinand. The schoolhouse may be used for public or private gatherings. Artifacts from virtually every era in Old St. Ferdinand's history are on display in the museum and throughout the buildings. On July 26, 2022, Old St. Ferdinand Shrine was submerged with loads of water caused by major flooding. The historic building sustained water damage after the flooding incident.

St. Louis Assembly Plant was an automobile factory owned by Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, Missouri. It was opened in 1948 and was closed in 2006; it was idled as part of Ford's "The Way Forward" plan. The plant was demolished in 2009.

The Casa Alvarez is a wood-frame, French Colonial-style house in Florissant, Missouri listed on the National Register of Historic Places as among the oldest houses in St. Louis County. According to its nomination for the Register it "serves as a last link with the Spanish occupation of the Upper Louisiana territory." Located at 289 Rue St. Denis, it is surrounded by modern homes.
