Ruan, County Clare

Dysart and Ruan is a Catholic parish in County Clare, Ireland. It covers the civil parishes of Ruan and Dysert, and includes the village of Ruan, which holds the parish office. The parish contains the ruins of the 12th century St. Tola's Church, part of Dysert O'Dea Monastery.

It is protected by the Irish National Parks and Wildlife Service as a wildfowl sanctuary, meaning that shooting game birds is not allowed at the lake.

Access to Barefield has changed in 2007 with the opening of the Ennis Bypass and changed again in 2010 upon the completion of the Gort Bypass.

Irish dancing lessons including set dancing are also carried out at the venue.
