Indian River State College (IRSC) is a public college with a main campus in Fort Pierce, Florida. It is part of the Florida College System and serves the counties of Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie on the Treasure Coast region of Florida.

WQCS (FM 88.9) is the National Public Radio member station for the Treasure Coast of Florida. Four years later, it boosted its power to 100,000 watts, more than tripling its coverage area in the process, and moved to its current dial position at 88.9 FM. The format is a mix of classical music and NPR talk programming. WQCS also broadcasts in HD. It offers a 24-hour news/talk station on HD 2, and a classic hits station known as "The River" (taken from a nickname for the college) on HD 3.

The Jules Frere House is a historic house located at 2404 Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Pierce, Florida. It is locally significant as one of the best examples of the Spanish Colonial Revival style in Fort Pierce, maintaining its original qualities exceptionally well.

The St. Lucie High School (also known as the Fort Pierce Elementary School) is a historic school in Fort Pierce, Florida. It is located at 1100 Delaware Avenue. On January 26, 1984, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The building was first called Fort Pierce High School. For many years it had been the only high school between Stuart and Melbourne. Originally designed by W.B. Camp, at one point it had been "the most magnificent, the most modernly planned and the most architecturally beautiful public school building in Florida." As the school grew, architects such as William Hatcher and Laurence Funke made additions in 1926 closely following the original construction. The building now houses the Fort Pierce Magnet School of the Arts, which offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that features music, art, dance and drama for elementary and middle school students.

Lincoln Park Academy is a public magnet school located in Fort Pierce, Florida. Commonly referred to as simply "LPA", the school is academically geared, offering Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, dual-enrollment, and pre-engineering course schedules. It was ranked 178th in the "Challenge Index" of United States high schools in The Washington Post in 2014.

Built in 1914, the Old St. Anastasia Catholic School is a historic school in Fort Pierce, Florida. It is located at 910 Orange Avenue. It was built by James P. McNichol, a senator from Philadelphia who fished in Fort Pierce during the winter, for the pastor that rode into town once a month. Along with the masonry school, McNichol had built a wooden church, rectory, and convent. Eventually the Catholic Mission would end in 1911 and the school was all that remained. On August 10, 2000, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. After damage from Hurricane Frances and Jeanne, the structure was in a state of disrepair. The building has since been stabilized and awaits restoration.

The Zora Neale Hurston House is an historic house at 1734 Avenue L in Fort Pierce, Florida. Built in 1957, it was the home of author Zora Neale Hurston (1891–1960) from then until her death. On December 4, 1991, it was designated as a U.S. National Historic Landmark.
