It is commonly referred to as a 'ghost town', however this is untrue; Collins just has a very low population and once contained an abandoned school, a General Store, and a Mint mill that processed locally grown peppermint. Collins was also a major grower of Onions, and the Vandalia Railroad shipped tons of onions to national markets.

Lake Everett is a lake in Allen County, Indiana, United States. The lake is about 42 acres (17 ha) and most of the land surrounding it is privately owned. Several small and a few larger cottages(some recently built) are located on the lake proper. The Indiana DNR maintains a beach, dock, and boat ramp on the lake. Lake Everett is held to be one of the area's best pan fishing locations. The lake is roughly twelve miles from Fort Wayne, Indiana with its major shopping and business center in NE Indiana. Fort Wayne has a hub airport, Fort Wayne International, with national & international service available and a general aviation airport(Smith Field). Both are located in or at The Fort Wayne city limits. Fort Wayne International Airport also houses the Indiana Air National Guard's local squadron Currently flying A-10 Warthogs. Lake Everett was named for Charles Everett, an early landowner.

It was constructed in 1888, and is a three-story, cruciform plan, French Renaissance style Indiana limestone building designed by Brentwood S. Tolan. It has a slate roof and galvanized iron central dome.The courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 16, 1979.

Thomas R. Marshall House, also known as the Whitley County Historical Museum, is a historic home located at Columbia City, Whitley County, Indiana. It was built in 1874, and is a two-story, "L"-plan, frame dwelling. It was remodeled in 1895. It features a nearly full-with front porch supported by paired Doric order columns and a projecting two-story bay. It was the home of Indiana Governor and U.S. Vice President Thomas R. Marshall.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
