Lawrenceburg is a city and the county seat of Dearborn County, Indiana, United States. The population was 5,129 at the 2020 census. It is the largest city in Dearborn County. Lawrenceburg is in southeast Indiana, southeast of Indianapolis and on the Ohio River west of Cincinnati.

Lawrenceburg High School is a high school located in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The current building was built in 1937. In 1964 the new gym(later named the Bud Bateman gym) was built to bring the sectionals back to Lawrenceburg. The School was renovated in 1980–1981. This brought the addition of the auxiliary gym, swimming pool, auditorium, and new choir room, band room, and cafeteria. by 2011 the foundation in the Bateman gym was shifting and it was demolished in 2014 and replaced with the current gymnasium in the same location. The new gym opened in 2015.

Daniel S. Major House is a historic home located at Lawrenceburg, Indiana. It was built between 1857 and 1860, and is a two-story, rectangular, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has an ashlar stone foundation, low hipped roof, polygonal bay windows, and a two-story service wing. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The district encompasses 257 contributing buildings and 2 contributing objects in the central business district and surrounding residential sections of Lawrenceburg. The district developed between about 1815 and 1900, and includes notable examples of Late Victorian, Federal, and Greek Revival style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Dearborn County Courthouse and Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church. Other notable buildings include the Trade and Industrial Building (1881), Lawrenceburg Theater (1875), Jesse Hunt Hotel (1818), the birthplaces of James B. Eads and Louis Skidmore.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Dearborn County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located at Lawrenceburg, Dearborn County, Indiana. It was built in 1870–71, and is a three-story, five bay, Greek Revival style building constructed of limestone. It features a three bay pedimented portico with four fluted columns with Corinthian order capitals.: 2 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. It is located in the Downtown Lawrenceburg Historic District.

Vance-Tousey House is a historic home located at Lawrenceburg, Dearborn County, Indiana. It was built about 1818, and is a two-story, five-bay, Late Georgian / Federal style brick and sandstone dwelling with a low hipped roof. The main block is flanked by 1+1⁄2-story wings. Flanking the main entrance are fluted Doric order engaged columns above which is a Palladian window. It was built by Samuel C. Vance, founder of the town of Lawrenceburg. It houses the Dearborn County Historical Society.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Hamline Chapel, United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church located at High and Vine Streets in Lawrenceburg, Dearborn County, Indiana. It was built about 1847, and is a one-story, gable front, Greek Revival style brick building on a raised basement. A rear addition was built about 1900 and two-story Sunday School and office addition in the 1950s. The church was renovated in 1979.: 2 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is located in the Downtown Lawrenceburg Historic District.

Tanner's Creek Generating Station (also spelled Tanners Creek) was a major, 1000-MWe coal-fired electrical power plant in Indiana. Located on the north bank of Ohio River along Tanners Creek, it was one of the two coal-fired power stations within 3 miles (5 km) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, near the tripoint of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky (the other plant being the Miami Fort Power Station in the neighboring Ohio). The former plant is situated directly across the Ohio river from Petersburg, Boone County, Kentucky. Tanner's Creek was one of the two Indiana coal power plants owned by Indiana Michigan Power, a subsidiary of American Electric Power (the other plant being Rockport Generating Station near Rockport, Indiana). On March 17, 2015, Indiana Michigan Power announced that the Tanners Creek plant would be completely shut down by May 31, 2015. The former plant was sold to St. Louis–based Commercial Development Company in October 2016. The Port of Indiana commission is studying converting the former plant into the state's fourth port.
