Lake Township, Allen County, Indiana

Arcola is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Lake Township, Allen County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population of the community is only 33.Once a booming train station for farm products and a regional U.S. postal center in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, in more recent years it has become a bedroom community of Fort Wayne. The community has a volunteer fire department and an elementary school in the building which once housed grades one through twelve, including Arcola High School. An annual Arcola tractor pull is held in the community.

Lake Everett is a lake in Allen County, Indiana, United States. The lake is about 42 acres (17 ha) and most of the land surrounding it is privately owned. Several small and a few larger cottages(some recently built) are located on the lake proper. The Indiana DNR maintains a beach, dock, and boat ramp on the lake. Lake Everett is held to be one of the area's best pan fishing locations. The lake is roughly twelve miles from Fort Wayne, Indiana with its major shopping and business center in NE Indiana. Fort Wayne has a hub airport, Fort Wayne International, with national & international service available and a general aviation airport(Smith Field). Both are located in or at The Fort Wayne city limits. Fort Wayne International Airport also houses the Indiana Air National Guard's local squadron Currently flying A-10 Warthogs. Lake Everett was named for Charles Everett, an early landowner.

Center School, sometimes called the Old Center School, is a historic one-room schoolhouse in Allen County, Indiana. It was built in 1893 at the center of Aboite Township, and became the foundation of Southwest Allen County Schools.Center School was closed in 1946, as a part of Indiana's increased consolidation of small schools, but in 1969, a new teacher was instated with the official title of schoolmarm, and it was reopened as a site for history classes.Originally constructed at what is now the intersection between Homestead Road and Aboite Center Road, in June 1993 the building was physically relocated eastward along Aboite Center by three-tenths of a mile, and was restored in the summer of 1995. The restoration won the 1995 Archie Award from the Arch Foundation.Center School is built of local brick, and has a slate roof with copper ridge caps. The interior features arches and oak woodwork, which, along with the floor, have been restored. The structure is topped with a copper-capped belfry, the likeness of which is used as the logo of Southwest Allen County Schools.
