Castleconnell railway station, opened on 8 August 1858 on the Great Southern and Western Railway line, serves the town of Castleconnell in County Limerick, Ireland. It is on the Limerick–Ballybrophy railway line and is also served by a skeleton service on the Limerick to Nenagh Commuter Service. It is unstaffed and has a small car park

Castleconnell (Irish: Caisleán Uí Chonaill, historically Caisleán Uí Chonaing) is a village in County Limerick on the banks of the River Shannon. It is 11 km (6.8 mi) from Limerick city and near the boundaries of counties Clare and Tipperary.

Ahane GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the Ahane, Castleconnell and Montpelier areas of east County Limerick, Republic of Ireland. The club fields teams in both hurling and football and historically is regarded as one of the great clubs of Limerick. Some other class players were the Mackey brothers, Mick and John and Jackie Power among others. In their day, they defeated all-comers in Limerick and in the adjoining counties of Tipperary and Cork whose clubs they successfully challenged in many church tournaments during their greatest period of domination. A few of the Ahane players won the All-Ireland Senior hurling championship in 1934, 1936 and 1940 with Limerick, their leader being the peerless Mick Mackey, regarded as one of Ireland's greatest hurlers of all time. They won 15 Limerick Senior Hurling Championships in the 1930s and 1940s and also won 5 Limerick Senior Football Championships during this era. Their fans can often be heard to use the famous cheer "Come on Ahane the spuds are boiling"

Montpelier (Irish: Montpelier) is a village and a townland in east County Limerick, Ireland, on the east bank of the River Shannon. It is connected to O'Briensbridge across the river in County Clare by a 14-arch stone bridge. The first bridge across the river here was built in 1506 by Turlough O'Brien, First Earl of Thomond and his brother, the Bishop of Killaloe. This 16th-century bridge was in turn replaced or rebuilt c. 1750. The five arches on the west side of the bridge date from this period. The six arches on the east side were replaced by the Shannon Commissioners in 1842. The first arch on the west side was replaced by the present navigation arch when the Shannon Scheme was built downstream in 1925–29.The ancient river-crossing here is believed to be identical with Áth Caille (meaning "Ford of the Wood"): one of the three fords mentioned in the Triads of Ireland, the others being Áth Clíath (Dublin) and Áth Lúain (Athlone).

O'Briensbridge-Montpelier is a census town in Ireland, comprising the villages of O'Briensbridge in County Clare and Montpelier in County Limerick which face each other across the River Shannon. The combined census town had a population of 396 at the 2016 census.

O'Brien's Bridge or O'Briensbridge (Irish: Droichead Uí Bhriain) is a village in east County Clare, Ireland, on the west bank of the River Shannon, in a civil parish of the same name. It is named for the bridge across the Shannon at that point, built by Turlough O'Brien in 1506.

Gortroe is a civil parish in the eastern region of County Cork, Ireland. In 1834, the Rathcormac-Gortroe massacre took place in the area during the Tithe War.

Killeenagarriff (Irish: Cill Mhic Con Ghairbh, meaning 'church of the son of Cú Garbh') is a civil parish in the historical barony of Clanwilliam in County Limerick, Ireland. Settlements in Killeenagarriff include the town of Annacotty, and population centres at Ahane and Barringtonsbridge. The Roman Catholic church at Ahane, built in the mid-1830s and dedicated to Saint Patrick, was described in Samuel Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (1837) as a "large new chapel". Its construction is reputed to contain a doorcase "reclaimed" from the ruins of Quin Abbey in neighbouring County Clare. Thornfield House, also in Ahane and dating from at least the early 19th century, was the home of General Richard Bourke, who retired there after a term as Governor of New South Wales in Australia. Barringtonsbridge, which spans into the neighbouring parish of Clonkeen, is a small settlement which developed near a metal bridge. This metal bridge was built, by the Barrington family, in the early 19th century over the Killeengarriff River. Killeenagarriff Church, a small ruined medieval church in Killeenagarriff townland, is sited in a churchyard which is bounded by the Killeengarriff River. The Killeenagarriff River later joins the Mulkear River.

Annacotty (Irish: Áth an Choite, meaning 'the ford of the small boat') is a suburban town on the outskirts of Limerick, Ireland, 7 km (4 mi) from the centre of the city. It is situated where the old N7 main road between Limerick and Dublin crosses the Mulkear River, 1 km (0.6 mi) upstream of where it flows into the River Shannon.

Clonlara is a Catholic parish in County Clare in Ireland. It is part of the Scáth na Sionnaine grouping of parishes within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe. The parish is an amalgamation of the medieval parish Kiltenanlea (also known as Doonass) and parts of the parishes of Truagh and Kilseily.

Clonlara, officially Cloonlara (from Irish: Cluain Lárach), is a village in County Clare, Ireland, and a Roman Catholic parish of the same name.

The River Mulcair, or Mulkear, rises in the Slieve Felim Mountains and Silvermine Mountains in Ireland, flows through the east of County Limerick before joining the River Shannon near Annacotty. It flows through Counties Limerick and Tipperary. The principal tributaries are the Dead River, the Bilboa River and the Newport River (Tipperary).The River Mulcair is an Atlantic salmon and brown trout river with a 1 March to 30 September fishing season. The river is currently designated as catch and release for Salmon.
