Taylor High School is a high school located in Center, Indiana, an unincorporated community approximately 5.5 miles southeast of Kokomo. It is the only high school of the Taylor Community School Corporation.

WWKI (100.5 FM) is a commercial radio station in Kokomo, Indiana. It is owned by Cumulus Media and it broadcasts a country radio format, calling itself 100.5 KI. The studios are at 519 N. Main St. in downtown Kokomo. WWKI has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts, the current maximum in most of Indiana. The transmitter is on East County Road 200 South near the Kokomo Creek.The station can be heard at most as far south as Northern Hamilton county aswell as Indianapolis and donut counties surrounding Kokomo. It can also be picked up in Peru Indiana and the signal can be picked up as far north as Rochester Indiana

Oakford (originally called Fairfield) is an unincorporated community in southwestern Taylor Township, Howard County, Indiana, United States. Oakford is part of the Kokomo, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Tri-Central Middle/High School is a four-year public high school located in Sharpsville, Indiana, in an unincorporated community approximately 9.2 miles northwest of Tipton, Indiana. The school was created by the merger of Windfall High School and Sharpsville-Prairie High School. Construction on the school started in June 1969 and the school opened on Sept. 8, 1970. The school is the only high school of the Tri-Central Community School Corporation.

Darrough Chapel is an unincorporated community in Center Township, Howard County, Indiana, United States. Named after Darrough Chapel Church, it has been in existence since at least 1894. It is part of the Kokomo, Indiana, Metropolitan Statistical Area. Darrough Chapel lies outside the city limits of Kokomo, and according to a March 11, 2011, report in the Kokomo Perspective, "At present, Darrough Chapel is excluded from all annexation proposals that have been made by the city."

WIOU (1350 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Kokomo, Indiana. It is owned by Hoosier AM/FM LLC, with studios and offices on Indiana State Road 26 in Kokomo. It broadcasts a sports radio format, mostly from ESPN Radio. WIOU is powered at 5,000 watts by day and 1,000 watts at night, on 1350 AM, It has a directional antenna system using an in-line four-tower array, pushing a directional pattern north over Kokomo. The directional pattern is slightly different day and night.

Indiana Transmission is a Stellantis North America automobile factory in Kokomo, Indiana. The first plant, Indiana Transmission I, opened in 1998 and the second opened in 2003. In June 2010 Chrysler announced a 300 million dollar investment to retool and modernize the Indiana plant for production of a future eight-speed automatic transmission.
