Granger is a census-designated place (CDP) in Clay and Harris townships, St. Joseph County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 30,465 at the 2010 census. Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation and the South Bend Community School Corporation maintain the public schools in the area. Granger is part of the South Bend–Mishawaka metropolitan area as well as the larger Michiana region.

Smith's Chapel, also known as Smith Chapel, is a historic chapel located at 29858 Redfield Road in Milton Township, Cass County, Michigan, near Niles. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1979 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The chapel is the oldest known church building in Cass County, and probably the oldest in southwest Michigan.

WRBR-FM (103.9 MHz) is a radio station in South Bend, Indiana, United States, broadcasting an active rock format. The station is owned by Federated Media. WRBR-FM hosts several concerts and activities in the South Bend area. WRBR-FM was formerly an oldies station before switching to an active rock format.

Granger Community Church was founded in 1986 as a United Methodist Church by Mark Beeson, his wife, Sheila, and a handful of others in the Beesons’ living room. Granger Community Church is a multi-site church. The Granger campus is located in Granger, Indiana; there is also a campus in Elkhart, Indiana. Granger Community Church ranked 10th among United Methodist churches in the U.S. in attendance, according to 2018 statistics kept by the denomination's General Council on Finance and Administration. This multisite congregation had a pre-pandemic weekly worship attendance of around 4,000 people.

Penn High School is a public high school located in Mishawaka, Indiana, United States, near South Bend. It is the only high school in the Penn-Harris-Madison (PHM) School Corporation. The district includes all of Osceola and portions of Granger, Mishawaka, and South Bend.

WHLY is a Regional Mexican radio station in South Bend, Indiana, broadcasting at 1580 on the AM dial. On May 1, 2013, WHLY adopted its current Regional Mexican format as La Raza 1580 AM. The station is currently owned by Ignacio Zepeda's I.B. Communications, Ltd., who also owns WKAM 1460 AM in Goshen, which is simulcast by WHLY.

University Park Mall is a shopping mall in metropolitan South Bend–Mishawaka metropolitan area (Mishawaka, Indiana, USA) and is owned by Simon Property Group. The anchors are Macy's, JCPenney and Barnes & Noble. The mall was originally anchored by a 122,632 sq ft (11,392.9 m2) Hudson's and a 152,922 sq ft (14,206.9 m2) L. S. Ayres. Hudson's became Marshall Field's in 1997, which closed in 2006 and was torn down in 2007. The L. S. Ayres store was renamed Macy's on September 9, 2006. The former Marshall Field's was replaced by an outdoor concourse anchored by Barnes & Noble. Sears, one of the original anchors of the mall when it first opened, closed during 2019.

Twin Branch Dam is the tallest dam with a hydroelectric power station on the St. Joseph River in Indiana. When it was first commissioned, it was called the Hen Island Dam. The name Twin Branch Dam comes from the Twin Branch Creek which empties into the St. Joseph River just above the dam. The prior name for the dam, "Hen Island Dam," came from an island that used to be just below the dam where a riverboat resident used the island to raise geese and chickens. There were two islands, one named "Hen Island" and the other "Goose Island". Both islands were taken by the river by the 1950s.

Michiana is a region in northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan centered on the city of South Bend, Indiana. The Chamber of Commerce of St. Joseph County, Indiana defines Michiana as St. Joseph County and "counties that contribute at least 500 inbound commuting workers to St. Joseph County daily." Those counties include Elkhart, La Porte, Marshall, St. Joseph, and Starke in Indiana, and Berrien and Cass in Michigan. As of the 2010 census, those seven counties had a population of 856,377 (647,271 in Indiana and 209,106 in Michigan). The name is a portmanteau of "Michigan" and "Indiana" and was chosen as the winning entry, purportedly submitted by Indiana politician Thurman C. Crook, among others, in a contest to name the area held by the Associated South Bend Merchants in 1934. The term is frequently used throughout the area, particularly by local radio and television stations based in South Bend that serve the entire area, but also by businesses that seek to draw customers from Indiana into Michigan or vice versa. A 2016 report stated that residents in the Michigan portion are particularly fond of the term because of it containing part of the state name as opposed to generic terms for the area such as "the South Bend region."

Edwardsburg is a village within Ontwa Township in Cass County in the U.S. state of Michigan, northeast of South Bend. The population was 1,259 at the 2010 census. It is part of the South Bend–Mishawaka, IN-MI, Metropolitan Statistical Area.
