Roxbury State Forest covers 5,509 acres (22.29 km2) in 3 blocks in Roxbury, Vermont in Washington County. The forest is managed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation for timber management, dispersed recreation, and wildlife habitat protection. Activities in the forest include remote camping, backcountry hiking, skiing and snowshoeing.

The Washington-2 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Washington-2 District includes all of the Washington County towns of Moretown, Northfield, and Roxbury. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Washington-2 District had a population of 8,020 in that same census, 1.21% below the state average.

The Mad River is a tributary to the Winooski River in Vermont. It has its headwaters in Granville Gulf, then flows north through the towns of Warren, Waitsfield, and Moretown before entering the Winooski River just downstream from Middlesex. Other towns within the Mad River watershed are the entire Town of Fayston and a portion of the Town of Duxbury. Relative to other rivers in the state, the Mad River is fairly rocky and clear, making it a popular for swimming. In the summer of 2008, didymo, or Rock Snot, was found in the upper portions of the river.The Mad River Valley is a popular region with tourists due to its picturesque scenery and two ski areas, Mad River Glen and Sugarbush Resort. Since 1990, the Friends of the Mad River – a non-profit formed to preserve and protect the recreational, ecological and aesthetic resources of the Mad River – has been engaged in citizen-based water quality monitoring, river restoration, land conservation, and public education and outreach on behalf of the Mad River watershed.

Joslin Farm is a historic farm property at 1661 East Warren Road in Waitsfield, Vermont. First developed c. 1830, the farm is home to one of Vermont's shrinking number of round barns. Now used as a bed and breakfast called The Inn at the Round Barn, the farm property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Granville Notch, or Granville Gulf, is a notch, or mountain pass, located in Granville, Vermont. North of the height of land, the notch is the source of the Mad River, which drains into the Winooski River, and into Lake Champlain. Lake Champlain drains into the Richelieu River in Quebec, thence into the Saint Lawrence River, and into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. To the south, the notch is drained by Alder Meadow Brook, a tributary of the White River, which drains into the Connecticut River, and into Long Island Sound in Connecticut. The land within the notch is in Granville Gulf Reservation (1,171 acres), which extends about 7 mi (11 km) along the streams, from the border of Addison County with Washington County south to about a mile north of the town of Granville. It includes the Moss Glen Falls, where Deer Hollow Brook enters Alden Meadow Brook.

The Waitsfield Common Historic District encompasses the original town center settlement of Waitsfield, Vermont, at the junction of Joslin Hill, Common, East, and North Roads. Located about 1 mile (1.6 km) from the town's present main village and center, it was laid out in 1793, and includes the triangular town common, a cemetery, and a number of houses built mainly between 1793 and 1841. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

The Warren Covered Bridge is a wooden covered bridge that crosses the Mad River in Warren, Vermont on Covered Bridge Road. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.The bridge is of queen post truss design. A sign on the bridge also identifies it as the Lincoln Gap covered bridge, despite no official reference to that name. A unique oddity with this bridge is the fact that the eastern portal extends further over the approaching roadway than the western, according to a sign posted in the bridge by the Vermont Festival of the Arts. This trusses on this bridge are covered not only on the outside, but on the inside as well... one of only two bridges left in the state with similar construction (the other being the School House Covered Bridge).

The Warren Village Historic District encompasses the village center of Warren, Vermont, United States. Stretched mainly along Main Street east of the Mad River, it is a well-preserved 19th-century mill village, although most of its period mill infrastructure has been lost. The district has good examples of Greek Revival, Italianate, and Second Empire architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Warren is a town in Washington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,977 at the 2020 census. The center of population of Vermont is located in Warren. It is set between the two ranges of the Green Mountains, with approximately 25% of the township within the boundaries of the federal Green Mountain National Forest. Sugarbush Resort is a. local ski resort in the town. The Long Trail, a hiking trail running from the border with Massachusetts to the Canada–US border, traverses the town.

Waitsfield is a town in Washington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,844 as of the 2020 census. It was created by a Vermont charter on February 25, 1782, and was granted to militia Generals Benjamin Wait, Roger Enos and others. The town was named after Wait.

Lareau Farm is a historic farm property at 48 Lareau Road in Waitsfield, Vermont. First settled in 1794 by Simeon Stoddard and his wife Abiah, two of the town's early settlers, the farmstead includes both a house and barn dating to that period. Now serving primarily as a bed and breakfast inn, the farm property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.
