Colchester High School is a public senior high school in Colchester, Vermont, and is part of the Colchester School District in Chittenden County, Vermont. The high school serves 9th through 12th grades. Enrollment is approximately 650 to 825 students with an annual graduating class of around 170 to 230 seniors.

WVMT (620 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Burlington, Vermont, and serving the Champlain Valley of Vermont and New York. WVMT is simulcast on FM translator station W242BK at 96.3 MHz. The translator's owner, Vox AM/FM, LLC, operates WVMT under a local marketing agreement (LMA) and is in the process of acquiring it from local businessman Paul S. Goldman. The radio studios and offices are within Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester, with Vox's other stations. WVMT’s transmitter power is 5,000 watts, as a Class B station, using a directional antenna with slightly different daytime and nighttime directional patterns in order to protect other stations on the AM 620 frequency, principally, WTMJ in Milwaukee. Its daytime signal covers most of Northern Vermont, Northeastern New York and part of Quebec, Canada. At night, the station adjusts its coverage to concentrate the signal around the Burlington and Plattsburgh, New York areas. WVMT's easily identifiable three-tower array is shown on Lake Champlain navigation charts, located in Colchester, near Malletts Bay.

The Chittenden-7-1 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Chittenden-7-1 District includes part of the Chittenden County town of Colchester defined as follows: That portion of the town of Colchester north of Malletts Creek and west of Interstate 89 to the Milton town line, plus that portion of the town of Colchester east of Interstate 89. The rest of Colchester is in Chittenden-7-2. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Chittenden-7-1 District had a population of 8,903 in that same census, 9.67% above the state average.

On air and in advertisements the station is known as "95 Triple X." The station is owned by Sison Broadcasting, and it airs a contemporary hit radio/Top 40 format. Studios and offices are on Mallets Bay Avenue in Colchester, Vermont.

St. Francis Xavier Church is a Catholic church within the City of Winooski, Vermont in the United States. Built in 1870 within what was then known as a village within the township of Colchester, the parish church became one of the most visible landmarks in Chittenden County due to its unique double-spired design and proportional size comparative to its surrounding structures. The Church was listed on the Vermont State Historic Register on November 22, 1993.

The Ethan Allen Homestead is a historic house museum at 1 Ethan Allen Homestead in Burlington, Vermont. It was built about 1787 by Ethan Allen, and is the only surviving residence of his in the state. It is open to the public annually from May to October. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The LeClair Avenue Historic District encompasses a small residential development on LeClair Avenue and North Street in Winooski, Vermont. Subdivided and developed by Francis LeClair, a prominent local businessman, the well-preserved working-class residences typify development of the period catering to the area's growing French-Canadian immigrant community. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The station was last owned by Radio Broadcasting Services, Inc., part of the Champlain Media Group. It aired a mainstream rock radio format, simulcast from co-owned WWMP (103.3 FM) in Waterbury. WCAT broadcast at 5,000 watts around the clock, with a non-directional signal by day. To protect other stations on AM 1390 at night when AM radio waves travel farther, it used a directional antenna after sunset. WCAT's transmitter was located off Intervale Road in Burlington. Studios and offices were on Water Tower Circle in Colchester, Vermont. According to FCC records, WCAT's 445-foot (136 m) tower #1 is the tallest man-made structure in the State of Vermont.WCAT also aired on an FM translator, W252CJ, at 98.3 MHz, to give listeners the option to hear the station in FM stereo.

The city is the most densely populated municipality in northern New England, an area comprising the states of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. It is the smallest of Vermont's 10 cities by area, though the city of Vergennes has the smallest population. As part of the Burlington, Vermont metropolitan area, it is bordered by Burlington, Colchester, and South Burlington.

Niquette Bay State Park is a 584 acres (2.36 km2) state park in Colchester, Vermont, on the shore of Lake Champlain. The day-use park is located just off Route 2, about 4 miles (6.4 km) from Sand Bar State Park in Milton, Vermont. Activities includes swimming, fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, and winter sports.There is a swimming beach and hiking trails through the forested area and down to the beach.
