Leicester, Vermont

The Stagecoach Inn is a historic building at the corner of United States Route 7 and Fern Lake Road in the center of Leicester, Vermont. Built about 1830, it is one of the best-preserved examples of a 19th-century stagecoach accommodation between Rutland and Vergennes, with a distinctive combination of Federal and Greek Revival architectural elements. Now converted to a residence, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Leicester Meeting House is a historic church building at the junction of United States Route 7 and the Leicester-Whiting Road in the center of Leicester, Vermont. Built in 1829, it is a well-preserved example of vernacular Federal period church architecture executed in brick. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The School House and Town Hall is a historic municipal building on Schoolhouse Road, just west of United States Route 7 in the center of Leicester, Vermont. Built about 1858, it is a fine example of late Greek Revival architecture, and is the town's best-preserved district schoolhouse. Its upper floor has served as the town hall since its construction. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Salisbury Town Hall is a historic municipal building at Maple and Prospect streets in Salisbury, Vermont. Built in 1869, it is a fine local example of Greek Revival architecture, and has served the rural community in a variety of ways: as town hall, library, and as educational facility. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

The Salisbury Village Blacksmith Shop is a historic industrial building at 925 Maple Street in Salisbury, Vermont. The site has a documented industrial history back to the late 18th century, and the building is the last surviving remnant of a once-bustling industrial area adjacent to Salisbury village. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.

The Salisbury Congregational Church is a historic church in the village center of Salisbury, Vermont. Completed in 1842, it is fine local example of vernacular Greek Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Satans Kingdom is an unincorporated community in the town of Leicester in Addison County, Vermont, United States. It is located along Vermont Route 53 near the southern shore of Lake Dunmore and just north of Fern Lake. Satans Kingdom was so named for their rocky soil which is unsuitable for farming. Satans Kingdom has been noted for its unusual place name.

Lake Dunmore is a freshwater lake in Addison County, Vermont. The lake spans the towns of Salisbury and Leicester and has a surface area of 985 acres (3.98 km2). Lake Dunmore is over 3 miles long (oriented north-south) and up to 1 mile wide. The primary source of water is Sucker Brook, which rises in the adjacent Moosalamoo National Recreation Area of the Green Mountain National Forest. The lake is drained by Leicester River, a tributary to Otter Creek, which in turn empties into Lake Champlain. Branbury State Park occupies 69 acres (28 hectares) of the eastern shore and offers a sandy beach, canoe rentals, and campsites. Vermont Route 53 follows the eastern and northern shores of the lake. Most of the shoreline is privately owned. Keewaydin (camp) operates two camps on Lake Dunmore. Keewaydin Dunmore for boys was established in 1910. Songadeewin, a camp for girls, was established in 1999.Point CounterPoint, a chamber music camp established in 1963, operates on the western shore of Lake Dunmore.The Lake Dunmore/Fern Lake Association, Incorporated "protects the Lakes’ value as a public recreational facility and respects the interests of property owners and the public".Although a natural lake formed by glaciation, the water level is controlled by a small dam. In addition, Sucker Brook is part of a hydroelectricity project connecting Silver Lake and Sugar Hill Reservoir via Sucker Brook and operated by Green Mountain Power.There have been conservation efforts to protect the loons who nest on Lake Dunmore. In 2022, Mike Korkuc was awarded the Green Mountain Power-Zetterstrom Environmental Award for his Loon recovery conservation work at Lake Dunmore.

Salisbury is a town in Addison County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,221 at the 2020 census.

The Addison-2 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Addison-2 District includes all of the Addison County towns of Cornwall, Goshen, Hancock, Leicester, Ripton and Salisbury. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Addison-2 District had a population of 4,365 in that same census, 7.54% above the state average.

Branbury State Park is a 69-acre state park in the towns of Salisbury and Leicester, Vermont. The park is located on the eastern shore of Lake Dunmore at the base of Mt. Moosalamoo. It is divided by Vermont Route 53. Activities includes boating, swimming, camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, wildlife watching and winter sports.Facilities include a sandy beach, boat rentals, a snack concession, 37 tent sites and 7 lean-to sites, flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station. There is a nature center and park rangers offer interpretive programs including night hikes, campfire programs, amphibian explorations, and nature crafts and games. Green Mountain National Forest is adjacent to the park's east side.

Bacon lived in Forest Dale between 1907 and 1914, operating his Bacon Manufacturing and Publishing Company, building banjos.
