Moorhouse's is an independent brewery founded in 1865, by William Moorhouse in Burnley Lancashire, England, as a producer of mineral waters and low-alcohol beers known as hop bitters. It first produced cask ales in 1978.

Burnley Barracks was a military installation at Burnley in Lancashire, England. Built for cavalry, but later used for infantry and storage, military activities at the barracks declined in the late 19th century.

Burnley Barracks railway station is in Burnley, England, on the East Lancashire Line 1⁄2-mile (800 m) west of Burnley Central railway station. Following the singling of the track in December 1986, Burnley Barracks has one platform in use, with only a basic shelter in place, and no other buildings on the platform. It is unstaffed, and one of four request stops on the line (see below), it does though have passenger information screens and timetable boards available, along with a long line PA system to provide train running information.

Rose Grove railway station is a railway station serving the Rose Grove area and town of Padiham in Lancashire, England. It is served by both the Caldervale Line and the East Lancashire Line. It was once the terminus of the Great Harwood Loop between Blackburn and Burnley via Great Harwood and Padiham. The station is now a junction station for both the Caldervale and East Lancashire Lines.

Mee-mawing was a form of speech with exaggerated movements to allow lip reading employed by workers in weaving sheds in Lancashire in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The noise in a weaving shed rendered hearing impossible so workers communicated by mee-mawing which was a cross between mime and lip reading. To have a private conversation when there were other weavers present, the speaker would cup their hand over their mouth to obscure vision. This was very necessary as a mee-mawer would be able to communicate over distances of tens of yards. It was said that each mill had its own dialect. The British comedian Hylda Baker used mee-mawing as part of her stage and radio act in the 1950s.

Holy Trinity Church is in Accrington Road, Burnley, Lancashire, England. It is a redundant Anglican parish church, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Holy Trinity is a Commissioners' church designed by Lewis Vulliamy in Early English style. The church was extended in 1871–72, but closed in 1990, and has been converted into flats.

Gawthorpe Hall is an Elizabethan country house on the banks of the River Calder, in Ightenhill, a civil parish in the Borough of Burnley, Lancashire, England. Its estate extends into Padiham, with the Stockbridge Drive entrance situated there. The house is traditionally attributed to Robert Smythson. In the mid-19th century, the hall was rebuilt by Charles Barry, the architect of the Houses of Parliament. Since 1953 it has been designated a Grade I listed building. In 1970 the 4th Lord Shuttleworth gave the hall to the National Trust, with a 99-year lease to Lancashire County Council. Both bodies jointly administer the hall and in 2015 the council provided £500,000 funding for restoration work on the south and west sides of the house.

Burnley Grammar School was latterly, a state-funded selective boys grammar School, situated in Byron Street in Burnley, England. However, during its long history, it moved between a number of sites in the town.

University Technical College Lancashire (or UTC Lancashire) was a university technical college (UTC) that opened in Burnley, Lancashire, England in August 2013. It was located on Trafalgar Street in Burnley, in the historic Victoria Mill which was extensively redeveloped and converted for use by the UTC. The college closed in August 2017.

Hameldon Community College was a mixed 11–16 comprehensive school located in Burnley, Lancashire, England.

Burnley High School is a mixed secondary free school located in the town and Borough of Burnley, Lancashire, England. The school opened in September 2014 with only 32 11-year-old pupils (Year 7) but quickly grew to over-subscription. The school has expanded over the succeeding years and now has a capacity of 600 pupils. The school celebrated its first set of GCSE results under Head Teacher Mr Phill Walmsley in 2019.Operated by the Education Partnership Trust (EPT), the school plans to educate pupils within a family ethos, instilling a strong sense of community and social responsibility, with Burnley Life Church a supporting partner since the schools launch The school initially opened in the Parkhill Business Centre in Padiham Road, while a new building was constructed nearby on the site of the former Habergham High School (Burnley Grammar School). Its launch has been controversial as other schools in the town have hundreds of vacant places. The school moved the three existing year-groups into the new building in April 2017, with the school's first Ofsted inspection occurring shortly after and returning a "good" rating. The first year-group celebrated its GCSE results in 2019.

Great Barn is an historic building in the English civil parish of Ightenhill, Lancashire. Built around 1605 about 100 metres (330 ft) west of Gawthorpe Hall, it is now a Grade I listed building.
