Trelech is the name of an electoral ward for Carmarthenshire County Council in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is represented by one county councillor.

The Great Western Railway was a railway company that was dominant in West Wales, in the United Kingdom. The main line from Swansea to Neyland, a port on Milford Haven Waterway, was opened as a broad-gauge line by the South Wales Railway from 1852, and that company merged with the Great Western Railway in 1862. The main line was converted to "narrow gauge" (later known as "standard gauge") in 1872, and most of the original main line is in use today. Several independent lines were opened in West Wales, and at the "grouping" of the railways in 1923 most of them were absorbed by the Great Western Railway. Some of them were chiefly mineral railways, and many have closed as the industries they served declined. Some rural routes too have closed, but branch lines to Pembroke and Milford Haven, and a main line extension to Fishguard are still in operation.

St Clears railway station served the town of St Clears, Carmarthenshire, Wales between 1854 and 1964. It was on the West Wales Line.

St Clears ( KLAIRZ; Welsh: Sanclêr) is a town on the River Taf and a community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. At the 2011 census, the population was 2,995. The community includes the small settlements of Bancyfelin and Pwlltrap. It is bordered by the Carmarthenshire towns and villages of Meidrim, Newchurch and Merthyr, Llangynog, Laugharne Township, Llanddowror, Eglwyscummin, Llanboidy and Llangynin.

St Clears Town Hall (Welsh: Neuadd y Dref Sanclêr) is a municipal building in the High Street, St Clears, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The structure, which is currently disused, is a Grade II listed building.

Bancyfelin is a village, 5 miles (8.0 km) west of Carmarthen, Wales. The English translation of the Welsh name is Hillside of the Mill. There is no remnant of the mill today. The village is known for producing international sporting stars despite having a population of only 300 or so people. These include three British & Irish Lions rugby players from Bancyfelin, Delme Thomas, Mike Phillips and Jonathan Davies. When The Lions toured Australia in the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour, all 3 of the 23-man squads to play Australia had more players from Bancyfelin than from Scotland.Up until the 1980s when the A40 dual carriageway bypass opened, the village was plagued by traffic jams in the summer months due to holidaymakers driving to the West Wales coast. The village is located mainly on the old A40 with the exception of the Council Estate built on a nearby hill. The village has gradually expanded with the building of houses on the outskirts. There is a small primary school, a post office, a pub, a chapel, a garage and Hafod Bakery, a family run bakery which has been baking bread for 60 years. Werndale Hospital, run by BMI Healthcare, is located at the western end of the village.

The River Taf (Welsh: Afon Taf) is a river in West Wales. It rises in the Preseli Hills, Pembrokeshire, and continues through Carmarthenshire to Laugharne. It is one of the three rivers to enter the sea on the east side of Carmarthen Bay. The other two are the River Gwendraeth and River Tywi.

Backe (Welsh: Bace) is a small hamlet in Carmarthenshire, Wales.

Llangynin is a village and community located in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The Welsh language name of the village means "the church of St. Cynin" The population of the community taken at the 2011 census was 284.St Cynin's church is a grade II* listed building which stands some 2 km south of the centre of the village.The community is bordered by the communities of: Llanwinio; Meidrim; St Clears; and Llanboidy, all being in Carmarthenshire.

Whitehill Down is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Carmarthen & Dinefwr, Wales.

Talog is a small rural village in Carmarthenshire, Wales, located on the River Cywyn, about seven miles north-west of the town of Carmarthen. It is in the community of Abernant. Talog was one of many west Wales villages involved in the Rebecca Riots of the early 19th century. A local miller, John Harries, was tried for his involvement in an ambush of the police and army pensioners at Talog, on 12 June 1843, after a reward of £300 had been offered for his capture. Sentenced along with him were two other local men, Thomas Thomas and Sam Brown.The village store was originally set up in 1836 by Thomas Thomas, and incorporated a post office. The village is now served by a mobile Post Office which visits 2 days a week. Bethania Baptist Church was built in 1839. A First World War building, purchased from the War Department in Monmouth, was brought to the village and set up for use as a village hall in 1920.Talog is the home of Jin Talog, a small gin distillery which won 3 Stars in the 2019 Great Taste awards, one of only four winners of the top mark. It was also nominated for a Golden fork award that year.

Sarnau railway station served the village of Bancyfelin, Carmarthenshire, Wales; it was close to the hamlet of Sarnau. It was on the West Wales Line.
