Sitka is an unincorporated community in Liberty Township, White County, in the U.S. state of Indiana.

Buffalo is a census-designated place (CDP) in Liberty Township, White County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 692 at the 2010 census.

Lake Shafer is one of two reservoirs located in the Twin Lakes area of Monticello, Indiana. It was created along with Lake Freeman in the 1920s when two dams were built outside of Monticello on the Tippecanoe River. It remains a popular recreational area and helps generate an estimated $70 million in tourism revenue for White County.

Hoosier Hurricane is a wooden roller coaster at Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana. The ride was designed by Dennis McNulty and Larry Bill of Custom Coasters International. It opened on May 27, 1994, as the park's largest wooden roller coaster and the first wooden roller coaster built in Indiana in fifty years. The ride was Custom Coasters International's third roller coaster designed and the first modern wooden coaster built with a steel support structure, which would eventually become a trend on many wooden coasters designed by them. Hoosier Hurricane, like other coasters in the park, was 'shoehorned' into the park. The ride hugs the shores of Lake Shafer, parallels most of the boardwalk, and suddenly turns near the Giant Gondola Wheel. Hurricane's structure is shared with nearby Cornball Express for a small portion of the ride (the S-turn before the drop). Hoosier Hurricane is designed to accommodate 2 trains, but due to low attendance, the park typically only runs 1. Even running only 1 train, you can typically expect a short or no wait time. Hoosier Hurricane was originally slated to be named Cornball Express while it was being designed, however the name was tossed in favor of Hoosier Hurricane. The name Cornball Express was eventually given to the Park's second wooden coaster, built in 2001.

Tig'rr is a classic steel roller coaster located at Indiana Beach. It was Indiana Beach's second roller coaster, and is one of only a few roller coasters built entirely on a pre-existing building. it has a maximum speed of 49 miles per hour (79 km/h) and is 39 feet (12 m) tall. It is one of 3 Anton Schwarzkopf "Jet Star" models still operating, and the only one still operating in North America. Of the five coasters at Indiana Beach still currently operating, Tig'rr is the only one with a height restriction of 54". This restriction is because of the extreme turns the coaster takes. Tig'rr used to not contain any restraints, but retractable seat belts have since been added. In 2016, the Tig'rr received a paint job. The track was changed from red to black and the supports were changed from white to bright orange. This is the second steel roller coaster at Indiana Beach. The first was Galaxi, which was removed in 2014, and the third is the tallest coaster in the park, Steel Hawg, which opened in 2008.

Indiana Beach is an amusement park located on Lake Shafer in Monticello, Indiana. The resort was developed by the Spackman family, who owned it from 1926 to 2008. The park was then sold to Morgan RV LLC, Apex Parks Group, LLC, and now is owned and operated by IB Parks & Entertainment.

Steel Hawg is a steel roller coaster located at Indiana Beach, Monticello, Indiana. The ride is the first El Loco model built by manufacturer S&S Worldwide (now S&S – Sansei Technologies) of Logan, Utah. The ride was installed by Ride Entertainment Group.Steel Hawg was expected to open in mid May, but was rescheduled for an early July opening. Steel Hawg opened to the public on July 5, 2008. The ride contains a 111 degree drop, two inversions, and several twists and turns. It also includes the world's first "outside" turn, where the rider banks to the left and turns right or vice versa. Whilst it was originally planned that Steel Hawg would have a 120° drop, the design was simplified such that the drop is just 111°. The media and advertisement companies were not informed, and the original figure of 120° was used in promotional material. Steel Hawg was the world's steepest rollercoaster prior to the opening of Mumbo Jumbo, on July 4, 2009, at Flamingo Land, United Kingdom. Mumbo Jumbo is also an S&S El Loco; it has a 112° drop. It still had the third steepest drop of all coasters in North America, exceeded only by Cannibal at Lagoon in Utah, which has a 116° drop and TMNT Shellraiser, at Nickelodeon Universe in New Jersey, which has a 121.5° drop. Steel Hawg was featured in Travel Discoveries "Extreme Terror Rides 2." It was the tallest coaster at the park, and ranked 22 on travel Channel's 101 greatest thrills. Steel Hawg can run up to 4 trains at a time, but the park typically chooses to run only 1 or 2 due to limited attendance.

All American Triple Loop (formerly Montaña Infinitum ["Infinity Mountain"] (2007-2014), Montaña Triple Loop ["Triple Loop Mountain"] (2014-2016) and Quimera ["Chimera"] (2017-2019)) is an upcoming roller coaster under construction at Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana. Manufactured by Anton Schwarzkopf, it was originally purchased by showman Rudolf Barth in 1984 who operated it as Dreier Looping for 12 years on the German fair circuit. After this, it was the main attraction in three major theme parks: first spending 2 years in Sunway Lagoon as Triple Loop Coaster, next, it spent 5 years in Flamingo Land resort as Magnum Force, and finally at its third and most recent location at La Feria Chapultepec Mágico, as Montaña Triple Loop. In 2017 it was renamed Quimera. In 2024, it will open at Indiana Beach as All American Triple Loop. On September 28, 2019, the derailment of the last car at an approximate height of 33 ft (10 m) resulted in 5 injuries and 2 deaths. This accident was much like that of another Schwarzkopf looping coaster, Mindbender.

Dragon Wagon was a roller coaster at the Indiana Beach amusement park. It opened in 2014 and was the first at the park since Little Dipper which closed in 1970. It was part of four ride additions at the park which included Rock 'n' Tug, Growler, and Baby Baron. It was located in the Kiddyland section of the park. It only was open for four years. The coaster is one of many Wisdom Rides dragon wagon models.

Cornball Express is a wooden roller coaster at Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana. The ride was designed and manufactured by Custom Coasters International. It opened on May 18, 2001. The Cornball Express had gained critical acclaim among enthusiasts, being named the #1 wooden roller coaster in the world by website ThemeParkCritic.com in 2002. Cornball Express, along with 2002's Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain, were among Custom Coaster International's last roller coasters designed before closing their doors in 2002. It was their 48th roller coaster designed. Cornball Express, as with other rides at the park, is also notable for being 'shoehorned' into other rides at the park. The ride weaves through and uses portions of the Hoosier Hurricane's structure in some parts, glides over the Kiddieland section of the park, wraps around the park's Tig'rr Coaster, and may sometimes 'duel' with the Rocky's Rapids Log Flume attraction. The name Cornball Express was also a candidate to be the name for the Hoosier Hurricane while it was being designed, however the name was tossed in favor for the latter.

The Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain is a wooden roller coaster at Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana, themed to that of a mine shaft. It was the last coaster Custom Coasters International (CCI) finished (they had also started work on New Mexico Rattler at Cliff's Amusement Park but went bankrupt before they could finish it). The ride is unusual as it has an elevator to raise the cars to the top of the track as opposed to the more traditional lift-hill. CCI constructed new cage-enclosed cars due to the proximity between riders and the themed 'mountain' sections of the ride. Eight people may ride in a two-car train simultaneously. Two face forward and two backward, opposite each other in each car. The ride enters an enclosed 'mountain' area several times throughout the ride. The imitation mountain was originally used for a previous dark ride. This dark ride went through the mountain and lights would illuminate scenes of various animals in the mountain. The Lost Coaster is a moderate ride and does not have big drops. Part of the thrill is the alarming shake generated by the unusual track design. The ride itself has been open since the mid-1980s as a mine like car ride with no hills or wooden tracks. The original ride's opening was delayed for a long time before officially opening in the 1980s. Lost Coaster was designed to operate three, eight-passenger trains, but most of the time runs only one or two, which can result in long waiting times. The Lost Coaster is also known for getting stuck quite often due to design flaws in the track. The train requires more weight in the front car to trigger sensors in the “Dynamite Willie” section of the ride, otherwise the car will get stuck in the break run. The Gravity Group, which is run by the former CCI designers, stated that Lost Coaster was the inspiration for the design of Twister at Gröna Lund in Sweden.

White County Asylum, also known as the Lakeview Home, was a historic county home located at Union Township, White County, Indiana. The main building was built in 1907–1908, and was a large four-level, Richardsonian Romanesque style brick building with limestone and brick trim. It consisted of a central administrative section flanked by residential wings. The building featured a high hipped roof. Also on the property is a contributing gable roofed barn (1908). The property is a contributing site.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. The building was demolished in 2017, and it was delisted in 2019.
