Lake Travis High School is a public high school located in unincorporated Travis County, Texas, United States, approximately 20 miles west of Austin, near Lake Travis. The preparatory is accredited by the Texas Education Agency and rated as an exemplary secondary by TEA standards. LTHS serves students in grades nine through twelve who live in southwest Travis County and is part of the Lake Travis Independent School District. LTHS and LTISD were both established in 1981 after splitting from the Dripping Springs Independent School District. The current high school was built in 1988. Because of major growth in the Austin Metropolitan Area, the high school has undergone several expansion projects. Due to the increase in student population, LTHS was reclassified in 2012 as a member of the UIL 5A conference. LTHS was again reclassified in 2014 when Texas added a 6A classification. As the only high school in LTISD, it serves Bee Cave, Briarcliff, Lakeway, The Hills, and Hudson Bend, along with 1.4 square miles (3.6 km2) of land within the City of Austin.

Austin Zoo is a non-profit rescue zoo and located in southwestern unincorporated Travis County, Texas, United States, west of Austin. The zoo is accreddited by the Zoological Association of America.The mission of Austin Zoo is to assist animals in need through rescue, conservation, and education. Austin Zoo currently has over 300 animals from over 100 different species, including African Lions, Bengal tigers, cougars, three species of monkeys, black bears, ring-tailed lemurs, and porcupines.

Lake Travis Independent School District is a public school district headquartered in Austin, Texas, (USA). It was created on June 12, 1981, after school board members decided to split the Dripping Springs Independent School District in order to handle the growing population of the Lake Travis area. In 2011, the school district was rated "Exemplary" by the Texas Education Agency.

Hurst Creek is a tributary of the Colorado River in Central Texas. Hurst Creek flows north through Lakeway and empties into Lake Travis.

Point Venture is a village in western Travis County, Texas. The population was 800 as of the 2010 census.Located on the north bank of Lake Travis, Point Venture was a second home and family vacation destination, since the early 1970s. It has matured into a community of full-time residents with over 150 children attending Lago Vista Schools. It features golfing, boating, lake access, and other amenities. Point Venture was incorporated in August 2000.The Lago Vista Independent School District serves area students.

Steiner Ranch is a planned community and census-designated place (CDP) in Travis County, Texas, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.It is in the west-central part of the county, occupying 4,600 acres (1,900 ha) on a ridge running within a large bend on the north side of the Colorado River between Lake Travis and Lake Austin. The community is surrounded by the city limits of Austin, the state capital, and is 18 miles (29 km) by road northwest of downtown. Real estate developer Al Hughes initially purchased the land for development in the late 1980s from the Steiner family. The neighborhood grew throughout the 1990s and, as of 2017, had a population of around 15,000. It currently contains three elementary schools, one middle school and a variety of community parks, recreation centers and trails.

The station has studios and offices along Loop 360 in Southwest Austin. KTXX-FM broadcasts in the HD Radio format. Its HD3 digital subchannel simulcasts the progressive country format heard on co-owned 99.3 KOKE-FM. The HD4 subchannel airs a classic hits sound, known as "The Bat," which feeds FM translator 105.3 K287FG. In addition, most of KTXX-FM's sports programming is heard on sister station AM 1260 KTAE in Taylor and its translator, 101.9 K270CO Round Rock.

Jester King is a craft brewery in Austin, Texas that specializes in beer fermented with wild yeast. It is set on a 200-acre ranch about 18 miles west of Downtown Austin. Jester King was founded in 2010 by Jeff Stuffings and Michael Steffing. Joshua Cockrell was hired to create beer labels, which have won awards at the World Beer Championships packaging competition.In 2011 Jester King won a lawsuit against the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, which had prohibited beverages with an alcohol content greater than 4% from being labeled as "beer". In honor of their legal campaign against regulation, the Brewers Association in 2014 presented Jester King with their F.X. Matt Defense of the Small Brewing Industry Award. In December 2011, Jester King recalled a batch of its Commercial Suicide beer due to excessive gushing caused by over carbonation.In January 2016, Jester King purchased 58 acres of land surrounding their facility. At the time, Stuffings said the company was planning to enlarge the brewery and add a winery, a distillery and a farm-to-table restaurant to the complex.In December 2019, Jester King was named the number 1 brewery in Texas in the inaugural Texas Craft Beer Report published by the analytics organization Hopalytics.
