Heidsee

Lenzerheide (Romansh: Lai) is a mountain resort in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland at the foot of the Parpaner Rothorn. The village lies in the municipality Vaz/Obervaz in the district of Albula, sub-district Alvaschein. The village lies in a broadened section of the valley between the cantonal capital Chur to the north and Tiefencastel, beyond which are the Julier Pass and St Moritz. The high valley forms a pass of no official name, often referred to as Lenzerheide pass, with a culmination point located 5 km north of the village. Lenzerheide is popular as skiing resort and for its lake (Heidsee), which is frozen in winter. The Lenzerheide Bergbahnen offers access to the skiing areas of Stätzerhorn, Danis, Scalottas, and Rothorn. There are slopes approved for all FIS Alpine Ski World Cup races for women and men. At the end of 2013 the Lenzerheide ski resort was linked with Arosa by cable-car, creating the new ski resort of Arosa Lenzerheide. Since then transport passes are available to both resorts. A two-day hike connects Lenzerheide with two more resorts in Graubünden in different Valleys, which are Arosa (can be reached in one day) and Davos (a two-day hike).

Lenzerheide is the common name of a passage past a high mountain pass in the Alps in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland, reaching summit at 1549 m between Valbella and Parpan, approximately 5 kilometers south of the resort of Lenzerheide. The road connects Chur in the valley of the Rhine and Tiefencastel in the valley of the Albula, which is actually a tributary to the Rhine. The pass nevertheless offered a shortcut which additionally avoided the gorge "Schinschlucht" with its difficult terrain in the past. Nowadays most traffic to Tiefencastel would use the A13 motorway to Thusis to get to Tiefencastel on a main road. The Lenzerheide road has a maximum grade of 11 percent and is open year-round, though road conditions frequently necessitate winter tires, especially between December and March. Due to the local settlements nobody ever bothered to call the summit near Lenzerheide a mountain pass nor would an official document call it a pass. It will also not appear on road pass opening charts.The mountain Piz Scalottas (el 2321 m.) offers a good view to overlook both routes via Lenzerheide or the Schinschlucht gorge. If you climbed the Lenzerheide pass road by mountain bike, the chairlift to Piz Scalottas will transport your mountain bike for free to the summit.

Piz Scalottas is a mountain of the Plessur Alps, located near Lenzerheide in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. In winter a chairlift brings skiers to the summit of Piz Scalottas. The mountain offers a good view to overlook both sides, Lenzerheide to the east and the Domleschg valley to the west. The Stätzerhorn (also known as Piz Raschil) is a mountain of the Plessur Alps, overlooking Lenzerheide in the canton of Graubünden. With an elevation of 2,575 (8,445 ft) metres above sea level, the Stätzerhorn is the culminating point of the range that lies west of the Lenzerheide Pass. Several trails lead to the top from both sides of the mountain. In winter the Stätzerhorn is part of a ski area.

Churwalden Abbey is a former Premonstratensian abbey in the municipality of Churwalden, Canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It was founded around 1150, abandoned after the Protestant Reformation and was formally dissolved in July 1803. It is a Swiss heritage sites of national significance.
