Enskilda Gymnasiet

The Strindberg Museum (Swedish: Strindbergsmuseet) is a museum in Stockholm, Sweden. It is dedicated to the writer August Strindberg (1849-1912) and located in his last dwelling. The site is in the building he nicknamed "Blå tornet" (Blue Tower) at Drottninggatan 85 on the corner of Drottninggatan and Tegnérgatan in the borough of Norrmalm in central Stockholm.

Tegnérlunden is a park at the border of city districts Norrmalm and Vasastan in central Stockholm, Sweden.

Rosenkammaren (literally: 'The Rose Chamber') was a torture chamber in the prison Nya smedjegården in Stockholm. It consisted of a long room, flooded with knee deep water from a spring. The prisoners sentenced to be tortured were chained by a hook from the ceiling in the knee deep water, which was normally icy cold. On 27 September 1772, torture was abolished by Gustav III of Sweden, and the Rose Chamber, along with the other torture chamber in the capital, Tjuvakällaren in the Town Hall (active 1471-1772), was closed and its equipment destroyed.

Smedjegården (literally: "Blacksmiths' Yard"), initially Nya smedjegården ("New Blacksmiths' Yard"), was a prison in Stockholm, in use between 1636 and 1896. The name was derived from a prison, similarly known as Smedjegården, in the dungeons of the royal castle Tre Kronor, in use until the castle was destroyed by fire in 1697. There the prisoners were made to labor in the castle's smithy. The Nya smedjegården was founded in 1636 at the street Drottninggatan in Stockholm. From 1664 onward, it was the site for prisoners awaiting death penalty in Stockholm. The building housed also a house of correction, an infamous torture chamber (Rosenkammaren), until the abolition of torture in 1772, and an orphanage (Allmänna Barnhuset) until 1886. Until 1849, the prison was used for both male and female prisoners—normally not kept separate from each other. Then Smedjegården was transformed into a women's prison. The institution was replaced in the 1890s, and the building demolished. On the site, Stockholm's People's House was erected.

St. Peter's Church (Swedish: Sankt Peterskyrkan) is church located in the Norrmalm district of Stockholm, Sweden. It was designed by Erik Lallerstedt and built in the Art Nouveau style 1900–1901.

The Scheffler Palace (Swedish: Schefflerska palatset) is a mansion located at Drottninggatan 116 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Stora Barnhuset (literally: "Great Children's Home"), from 1785 known as Allmänna Barnhuset ("Public Children's Home"), was Sweden's largest orphanage, founded 1633 in Stockholm and active until 1922. The charitable foundation of the orphanage still exists, now supporting research associated with children's care.

Kungstensgymnasiet (KSG) is an upper secondary school from the 10th–12th grade in Vasastan in Stockholm, Sweden. The school is located in Stockholm University's former main building of Kungstensgatan 45. The school is now run by Folkuniversitetet and can accommodate about 400 pupils divided into two programs, Political Science with social science orientation. Program indentations are the economy (2000–2010), entrepreneurship, culture and language, and arts program with photo and language targeting. The school focuses on an interdisciplinary project. In 2009 Kungstensgymnasiet was Sweden's fourth most searched secondary school with an intake limit of 295 points on the Social Science program. Kungstensgymnasiet has an international profile and provide all students undertaking internship in Barcelona, Aix-en-Provence and Düsseldorf. All students study languagesup to step 5; step 6 can be made optional.

Norra Latin is the familiar Swedish name of a historic Stockholm school more properly known as Högre allmänna läroverket för gossar å Norrmalm ("public senior secondary school for boys at Norrmalm"). Completed in 1880, for over a hundred years the school, at 71b Drottninggatan in the Norrmalm district of Stockholm, offered an education that emphasized Greek, Latin and classical studies. The school was formed by a merger that included Klara gamla skola on Klara västra kyrkogata and Stockholms gymnasium on the island of Riddarholmen. Although a 1918 resolution declared that the school should be co-educational, girls were in fact not admitted until 1961. In the beginning of the 1980s the building was sold to Landsorganisationen i Sverige, the Swedish Trade Union Confederation, who renovated the building as a modern conference centre, opening in 1989.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry (Swedish: Kungliga Skogs- och Lantbruksakademien), formerly the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture (Kungl. Lantbruksakademien), founded in 1813 at the initiative of Crown Prince Charles, is one of the Royal Academies in Sweden. Initially the Academy had a function of being auxiliary to the central administrative authorities. The Academy now acts an independent organization, promoting agriculture, forestry and related fields with the support of science and practical experience, in the interest of Swedish society.

Norra Bantorget ("Northern Railway Square") is an area in central Stockholm, named after the location where the first Stockholm North Station was built. It is the traditional Social Democratic grounds of the Swedish capital. It is the location of the LO headquarters, the Swedish Trade Union Confederation. At Norra Bantorget is also the Workers Movement's Archive and Library, and Folkets hus (where Russian social democrats held their Fourth Congress in 1906). There are several monuments of working class leaders erected at Norra Bantorget, including a statue of August Palm and the Branting Monument. A street in the area is named after Olof Palme. Norra Bantorget is a traditional gathering spot for demonstrations, such as the ones arranged by the Social Democrats on May Day. There is also a newly erected four-star Clarion hotel, Clarion Hotel Sign, located on the right side of the square as seen from the LO-building.

The Branting Monument is a monument in Stockholm, Sweden, with a statue of the Swedish Social Democratic leader Hjalmar Branting (1860 – 1925). The monument is 5 meters tall and 6 meters wide. The bronze relief monument, by artist Carl Eldh, is located in a small park at Norra Bantorget in Stockholm, which is the traditional Social Democratic grounds of the city. Eldh started working on the monument in 1926, one year after Branting had died, but it was erected only in 1952. The monument shows a prominent looking Branting addressing a group of workers on a May Day demonstration. Several of the worker movement's pioneers are found in the otherwise anonymous crowd of workers surrounding Branting, including Axel Danielsson and August Palm. On 17 May 1992, the monument was partly damaged when a small bomb exploded and blew up a hole in the belly of the Hjalmar Branting figure. This was the fourth in a series of five statue bombings in Stockholm that had begun on 25 February and ended on 8 June. A group of seven teenagers, six boys and one girl, were arrested a week later and confessed to the acts of vandalism. (The other statues were not political monuments, and no political motives were mentioned in the news reports.) The monument was restored two years later by the local company Herman Bergmans konstgjuteri AB, the foundry that had originally made it in the early 1950s. The restoration cost, 320,000 Swedish crowns, was shared by the City of Stockholm and the Stockholm section of the Swedish Trade Union Confederation.
