Mannamead

Mutley Plain is a street in Plymouth, Devon, England. Although Mutley Plain is the main street of the dense suburb called Mutley, the term is often applied to the whole area. The road is now a busy dual-carriageway, the B3250, with eight sets of traffic lights/pelican crossings. It was built as a smart tree-lined avenue in late Victorian times and improved over the next half century as a local shopping place for its neighbourhood and the affluent area to the north.

Mutley Baptist Church is an evangelical Baptist church and congregation in Mutley Plain, Plymouth, Devon, situated in a large Grade II building, designed by architect J. Ambrose in 1867.

Hyde Park Junior School (HPJS), founded in 1904, is a coeducational junior school located on Hyde Park Road, close to Mutley Plain in Plymouth, Devon, England. Catering for around 360 boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 11, it is housed in the same building as its partner school, Hyde Park Infants. The school's catchment area extends across part of the suburbs of Plymouth including Mutley and Mannamead.

Drake is an election ward within Plymouth, Devon, England. One of the main roads from the city to Tavistock and Dartmoor runs through the ward. In the past it played an important role in the supply of water to Plymouth, and it was the location of both a fatal bomb explosion and a large unexploded bomb during the Plymouth Blitz. The University of Plymouth has its main campus in this ward and the large student population has led to part of it being designated as one of the four areas subject to Designated Public Places Orders in the city. It is also the location of the city's main railway station, museum and public library.

St Gabriel's Church is a Church of England church in Peverell, Plymouth, Devon, England. Built to the designs of the London architect W. D. Caröe, the church was built between 1909 and 1910, with extensions in 1924 and 1955. The church has been a Grade II listed building since 1975.

Greenbank is part of the city of Plymouth in the county of Devon, England. Greenbank lies to the west of Freedom Fields, a park preserving the approximate site of a battle during the English Civil War. It is a Victorian and Edwardian residential area with many small public houses and shops, and is now favoured by students due to its proxomity with the University of Plymouth. It is home to a principal fire-station and formerly of Plymouth's two main hospitals, both recently demolished and redeveloped. It is a short walking distance from the city centre and sea front area as well as the university and Beaumont Park to the south.

Freedom Fields Hospital was an acute hospital in Plymouth that closed in 1998. The site formerly occupied by the hospital has now been largely redeveloped for residential use.

BBC Radio Devon is the BBC's local radio station serving the county of Devon. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds from studios in the Mannamead area of Plymouth. According to RAJAR, the station has a weekly audience of 155,000 listeners and a 6.5% share as of September 2023.

A memorial to Michael Foot is situated in Freedom Fields Park in Plymouth, Devon. Foot was born in Plymouth, and served as Member of Parliament for Plymouth Devonport between 1945 and 1955. The memorial stands opposite the house where Foot was born.The memorial consists of three granite blocks, a central tall block is marked with "Michael Mackintosh Foot 1913–2010", with two smaller blocks that can be used as seats. The three blocks are carved with the words "orator", "democratic socialist" and "journalist". The memorial cost £50,000 to erect and was paid for with fundraising from public donations.The memorial was vandalised with Nazi iconography in the wake of the 2016 United Kingdom European Union membership referendum in July 2016 - Foot had been one of the leaders of the campaign to leave the Union in the referendum held in 1975.

St Augustine's Church was a Church of England church in Lipson, Plymouth, Devon, England. Built to the designs of King & Lister of Plymouth, the church's crypt was built between 1899 and 1900, and initially served as a mission church until the main building was completed. Construction of the church was carried out between 1901 and 1904, but the west end was not completed until 1933. During World War II, the church suffered major damage in an aid raid and was rebuilt between 1950 and 1954. After closing as a place of worship in 1993, it was demolished in 2001 and replaced by the student accommodation block, St Augustine's House.

Peverell (anciently Weston Peverell) is a neighbourhood of Plymouth in the English county of Devon. The 2001 Census estimated the population as 6,455, increasing dramatically to 13,553 at the 2011 census.
