Omišalj

Aviogenex Flight 130 was an international charter passenger flight from Gatwick Airport, London to Rijeka Airport, Yugoslavia (modern-day Croatia). On 23 May 1971, the Tupolev Tu-134A servicing the flight suffered structural failure during landing. The aircraft flipped over and caught fire, killing 78 people. The crash became the first fatal accident of the Tupolev Tu-134 since entering service.British authorities assisted in the investigation led by the Yugoslavian Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics. The investigation found that the crew might have suffered an optical illusion caused by the dusk and heavy showers that caused the crew to believe that the runway was closer and lower than it actually was. In response to the illusion, the crew executed an overly steep and fast descent in the last phase of the final approach, causing a hard touchdown and breakage of the right wing.

Krk Bridge (Croatian: Krčki most) is a 1,430 m (4,692 ft) long reinforced concrete arch bridge connecting the Croatian island of Krk to the mainland. Carrying over a million vehicles per year, it was the last tolled bridge in Croatia that is not part of a motorway until the removal of tolls. The longer of the bridge's two arches is the third-longest concrete arch in the world and the longest outside of China, and among the longest arches of any construction. The bridge was completed and opened in July 1980 and originally named Tito's Bridge (Croatian: Titov most) in honor of Yugoslav president Josip Broz Tito, who had died two months earlier. The bridge has since been renamed Krk Bridge or Krčki most. The bridge was tolled since its opening until the removal of tolls on 15 June 2020. However, passage was toll free for Krk residents since 1999 and vehicles owned by Krk businesses since the 2000s. When the tolls were removed, passenger cars were being charged 35 kuna, southbound only.Prior to January 1st 2021, maintenance was undertaken by Autocesta Rijeka - Zagreb d.d. Due to the acquirement of ARZ by Hrvatske autoceste d.o.o. on that date, the bridge is now maintained by HAC.

Njivice is a village located on the island of Krk in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Croatia. According to the 2011 census, the village has a population of 1,115. It is located in the Omišalj municipality, 6 km south of Omišalj itself.

Kraljevica (known as Porto Re in Italian and literally translated as "King's cove" in English) is a town in the Kvarner region of Croatia, located between Rijeka and Crikvenica, approximately thirty kilometers from Opatija and near the entrance to the bridge to the island of Krk. The population of the settlement of Kraljevica itself is 2,857 with a total of 4,618 in the area of the Town of Kraljevica, which is part of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and includes Šmrika. The town is known for its shipyard which has built a number of ships for the Croatian navy.

Kraljevica Shipyard is a shipbuilder at Kraljevica, on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. The shipyard was founded in 1729 and is claimed to be the oldest continuously operational shipyard in the world.The shipyard has been operating under the name DALMONT d.o.o. since 1992. The government of Croatia has repeatedly attempted to privatise the shipyard, most recently in November 2010. The company was forced into bankruptcy proceedings by the Croatian government in March 2012.

Biserujka is a cave located 6 km northeast of Dobrinj, in the village of Rudine, above the Slivanjska Bay, in the island of Krk, Croatia. An undistinguished stone house in the middle of a bare karst landscape hides the entrance to a cave 12 m under the surface. Although it is not very long if compared to other caves, only 110 m deep, the Biserujka cave has everything that is characteristic of karst phenomena. It has typical features such as stalactites and stalagmites, and also a gallery or hall, which is suitable for the holding of concerts. However, because of the low temperature, about 13 °C, people cannot stand being there for long periods of time, so only short musical pieces are performed. Since 1998, the cave has been arranged for sightseeing and the hosts can take groups of 25 at a time.

Šmrika is a village in Croatia, near the Island Krk and the Krk Bridge. It's part of the Town of Kraljevica, which is part of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

Jadranovo is a small coastal town in the northern coast of Croatia. Tourism here has flourished due to its proximity to Crikvenica.

Rudine is a hamlet on the northern end of the Croatian island of Krk, to the north of the Soline Bay. It is part of the municipality of Dobrinj. As of 2021, it had 5 inhabitants. Rudine is best known for the Biserujka cave.

Sužan is a village on the Croatian island of Krk, 1 km to the southwest of Čižići. It is part of the municipality of Dobrinj. As of 2021, it had 70 inhabitants. The ruins of a church, the Church of All Saints (Croatian: Crkve Svih Svetih) can be found in the village. This church dates from 1514 and was eventually left abandoned in 1927.

Čižići is a village located on the northeastern part of the Croatian island of Krk. It is part of the municipality of Dobrinj. As of 2021, it had 133 inhabitants. The village has a harbor providing access to the Soline Bay and the Vinodol Channel. The villages of Klimno and Soline are located on the opposite side of the bay.

Križišće is a village in Croatia. It is connected by the D501 highway. It is in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.Many roads go through Križišće which is where the village gets its name from. It lies very close to the Krk bridge.
