The Chicago Illinois Temple is the thirty-fifth temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is the second of three church temples that have been built in Illinois (The first and the third being the Nauvoo Temple and the Nauvoo Illinois Temple).

Glenbrook South High School, or GBS, is a public four-year high school located in Glenview, Illinois, a north suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Northfield Township High School District, which also includes Glenbrook North High School. Glenbrook South should not be confused with Glenbard South High School, another suburban Chicago high school located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois that is also referred to as "GBS". Feeder schools that attend GBS are Attea, Springman, Field (Glenview portions), and Maple (Glenview portions). According to state standardized test scores, 29% of students are at least proficient in math and 40% in reading, as tested by the Illinois State Board of Education. These figures indicate that the schools performance is above the state high school median of 24% proficiency in Math and Reading.

Camp Pine was a Civilian Conservation Corps camp in Des Plaines, Illinois, north of Chicago. It was leased by the United States Department of Agriculture during World War II to house civilian farm workers from 1943 to 1944. The camp then housed German prisoners of war from 1945 to 1946. Its site is found in Camp Pine Woods forest preserve.

Oakton Community College is a public community college with campuses in Des Plaines, Illinois and Skokie, Illinois. It was established in 1969 in Morton Grove, Illinois and moved to its current locations in 1980.

Maine North High School (officially was known as Maine Township High School North) was a public four–year high school in Des Plaines, Illinois, United States, located northwest of Chicago. Maine North was located in unincorporated Maine Township, part of Maine Township High School District 207 which includes Maine East, Maine West, and Maine South High Schools. Maine North served parts of Des Plaines, Glenview, and Niles. Opened in August 1970, Maine North closed in May 1981. The building is constructed in brutalist style, and its architect was Donald Stillwaugh.

All Saints Cemetery is a cemetery of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, and is located at 700 North River Road, in Des Plaines, Illinois.The original 1923 East cemetery was expanded in 1954 to include All Saints West. The cemetery includes a three-story community mausoleum containing space for thousands of above-ground interments.

The Des Plaines crater or Des Plaines disturbance is recognized as an impact crater in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is located beneath the eastern part of the city of Des Plaines, which is a suburb of Chicago.The Des Plaines crater is 5.5 miles (8.9 km) in diameter and covers an area of approximately 25 square miles (65 km2). The age of the crater is unknown but is thought to be between 280 million years and 2 million years (Permian or younger). The crater is buried beneath 75 to 200 feet (23–60 m) of glacial till and can only be seen as a series of faults and deformations in well logs and seismic surveys. Faulting in the structure has produced as much as 600 feet (180 m) of vertical displacement. Subsurface strata of Cambrian through Pennsylvanian age has been faulted and tilted by the event. The anomalous area was first noted by water well drillers in 1893, who noted an absence of water in a 1,600-foot (490 m) deep well. Prior to being recognized as an impact structure, the feature was referred to as a cryptoexplosion structure or cryptovolcanic structure, as were several others in the Midwestern United States. The upfaulted central portion and the presence of shatter cone structures support the impact origin.

In Metra's zone-based fare system, Prospect Heights is in zone E. As of 2018, Prospect Heights is the 144th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 304 weekday boardings.

Chicago Executive Airport (IATA: PWK, ICAO: KPWK, FAA LID: PWK), formerly Palwaukee Municipal Airport, is a public airport 18 miles (33 km) northwest of Chicago, in the village of Wheeling in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is owned by the City of Prospect Heights and the Village of Wheeling.The airport logs over 77,000 take-offs and landings each year and is the fourth busiest airport in Illinois.

Northfield Township is one of 29 townships in Cook County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 85,102. The township office is located at 2550 Waukegan Road (just south of Willow Road) in Glenview. The township was established on April 2, 1850.

Prospect and additional offices in Elgin and Urbana, Rainbow serves patients in seven counties throughout Illinois: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties. Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) as of 2013. As an accrediting body, CHAP has regulatory authorization to survey agencies providing home health and hospice services, to determine whether they meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation (COPs).
