Wandersleben

Rot (in its upper course Roth) is a river of Thuringia, Germany. The Rot springs near the district Siebleben of Gotha. It is a left tributary of the Apfelstädt in Wandersleben.

Drei Gleichen is a municipality in the district of Gotha, in Thuringia, Germany. It was formed on 1 January 2009 by the merger of the former municipalities Grabsleben, Mühlberg, Seebergen and Wandersleben. Since May 1992, these municipalities had cooperated in the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") Drei Gleichen. This Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was disbanded on 1 January 2009. It is named after the drei Gleichen ("three like") castles between Gotha and Erfurt. In July 2018 the former municipality of Günthersleben-Wechmar was merged into Drei Gleichen.

Wachsenburg Castle (German: Veste Wachsenburg) is a castle in Amt Wachsenburg in the Ilm-Kreis, Thuringia, Germany. It is one of the Drei Gleichen, three hilltop castles east of Gotha. It was originally built in the 10th century. The castle was extensively reconstructed in the 17th and 19th century. The well-preserved castle (most recently restored in the 1990s) now houses a museum, a hotel and a restaurant. It was built by Hersfeld Monastery. The castle is approximately 93 metres (305 ft) deep. During its history, Wachsenburg Castle has had its fair share of troubles. In 1441 CE a notorious robber baron took control of the castle and made it his base for his raids on the merchants of Erfurt.

Wachsenburggemeinde is a former municipality in the district Ilm-Kreis, in Thuringia, Germany. The municipality was named after the Wachsenburg Castle which is located in its center. It consisted of the five villages named Bittstädt, Haarhausen, Holzhausen, Röhrensee, and Sülzenbrücken. Since 31 December 2012, it is part of the municipality Amt Wachsenburg.
