Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana

Santa Ana (Spanish for 'Saint Anne') is the county seat of Orange County, California. Located in the Greater Los Angeles region of Southern California, the city's population was 310,227 at the 2020 census, making Santa Ana the second most populous city in Orange County (after Anaheim), the 13th-most populous city in California, and the 64th densest large city in the United States. Santa Ana is a major regional economic and cultural hub for the Orange Coast. Santa Ana's origins began in 1810, when the Spanish governor of California granted Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana to José Antonio Yorba. Following the Mexican War of Independence, the Yorba family rancho was enlarged, becoming one of the largest and most valuable in the region and home to a diverse Californio community. Following the American Conquest of California, the rancho was sold to the Sepúlveda family, who subsequently lost their land claim. In 1869, William H. Spurgeon then purchased the rancho and formally founded the modern city of Santa Ana. Approximately four-fifths Latino, Santa Ana has been characterized by The New York Times as the "face of a new California, a state where Latinos have more influence in everyday life—electorally, culturally and demographically—than almost anywhere else in the country."

Santa Ana High School is the oldest and largest high school in Orange County, California, United States. The school was established in 1889.

Santa Ana Stadium, also known as Eddie West Field or the Santa Ana Bowl, is a city-owned and operated 9,000-capacity American football and soccer stadium located in downtown Santa Ana. The field was named after Eddie West, a writer for the Orange County Register and tireless supporter of the Santa Ana College Dons and all Orange County sports.The city's stadium holds many events in addition to its high school and college football main draws, including children's and adult soccer games through local leagues, high school and college commencement ceremonies and more. The City of Santa Ana scheduled retrofitting of the stadium to begin on January 4, 2016 and end on April 30, 2016 but work was not completed until August 2016. Current tenants include the Santa Ana Unified School District's High School football teams, the Santa Ana College Dons football team, and the Mater Dei Monarchs football team. The upstart United Premier Soccer League, founded in Santa Ana, also holds occasional exhibition and league playoff matches at the stadium, for its various clubs.

The Superior Court of California, County of Orange, also known as the Orange County Superior Court or Orange Superior Court, is the branch of the California superior court with jurisdiction over Orange County.

The Ronald Reagan Federal Building and Courthouse at 411 West Fourth Street in Santa Ana, California, is a ten-story United States federal building and courthouse on 3.94 acres (15,900 m2) that includes courtrooms, judges chambers, offices and courtroom galleries of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Named for former President and California Governor Ronald Reagan in 1998, the building is owned by the General Services Administration and is 176 ft (54 m) tall.

The West End Theater is a historic former movie theater on 4th Street in Santa Ana, California. Developer L. A. Schlesinger commissioned the theater in 1915 and architect James Flood Walker designed the building. It was later operated by Santa Ana theater proprietor C. E. Walker and named the State Theater. It showed arthouse and foreign film in the 1960s as the Guild Theater and was operated as an adult movie theater called the State Arts Theater in the 1970s. After the venue closed in 1978, the building survived a series of demolitions downtown. It has since been repurposed as a cafe.

The Santora is a historic commercial building located in Downtown Historic District of Santa Ana, California. It now houses art galleries, retail stores, and restaurants.

Mater Dei High School is a private, Catholic, co-educational secondary school in Santa Ana, California. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. Mater Dei is known for its strong sports programs, especially in football, and for its multiple graduates who have won the Heisman Trophy. As of 2022, the school has had 23 Gatorade Players of the Year. The Football team plays in the Southern Section Division 1, and most recently won the CIF State Championship during the 2021 season. There is a total of 25 sports teams at the school, with 71% of the athletes being on the Honor Roll.

The New Walker Theatre is a historic former movie theater on Main Street in Santa Ana, California. Opened in 1924, it came under new management as the Fox Walker Theatre in 1925 and later operated as the West Coast Theatre. Theater specialist firm Boller Brothers designed the building in the Mission Revival and Moderne styles; it was the group's 100th project. The New Walker Theatre was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 19, 1982. Following its closure as a movie theater in the 1980s, the auditorium was later purchased and renovated by a church in 1991.

Rankin's was a department store at 117 W. Fourth Street at Sycamore in downtown Santa Ana, California. The Rankin Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places on its own and also as a contributing property of the Downtown Santa Ana Historic Districts. The store had its origins as the Rankin Dry Goods company, founded in 1894. Mr. J. H. Rankin of Bloomfield, Indiana, together with T. D. Huff & Sons opened up the dry goods store on the site of Swanner's Grocery Store. The store was enlarged three times before moving into the 30,000-square-foot (2,800 m2), three-story space at Fourth and Sycamore in 1917.

The Builders Exchange Building, at 202-208 N. Main St. in Santa Ana, California, was built in 1929. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It was designed by architect William Rohrbacher in simplified Beaux Arts style. The building is currently owned by California-based General Contractor Swinerton Builders, CSLB 0092.

Downtown Santa Ana (DTSA), also called Downtown Orange County, is the historic city center of Santa Ana, the county seat of Orange County, California. It is the institutional center for the city of Santa Ana as well as Orange County, a retail and business hub, and has in recent years developed rapidly as a regional cultural, entertainment and culinary center for Orange County. The Downtown Santa Ana Historic Districts are listed with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and consist of numerous historic buildings across the area.
