Banzkow (Amt)

Banzkow is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Since 2009 it has included Goldenstädt. From 1992 to 2009 Solveig Leo, who achieved celebrity status as the youngest LPG chairperson in East Germany, served as Mayor of Banzkow, representing the Party of Democratic Socialism and later The Left.

The Pinnower Kiessee was created by the accumulation of groundwater in a gravel pit in the municipal area of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The lake lies about ten kilometers southeast of Schwerin and 1.3 kilometers from the eastern shore of Lake Pinnower. Inflow and outflow do not exist. Currently (2008) the lake measures 1.2 km in length and up to 530 meters in width. Each year, more than half a million tons of gravel and sand are removed.

Bietnitz is a river of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It flows into the Binnensee in Pinnow. The Binnensee is drained via the Mühlensee and the Mühlenfließ to the Warnow.

The Schweriner Fernsehturm is a 136.5-metre-tall communications tower built of steel-concrete between 1960 and 1964 in Schwerin, Germany. Unlike most other TV towers, the ground plan is a spherical triangle and not a cylindric cross section. Also its tower basket, which also contains a restaurant, has no round form, but looks instead like a triangle with round sides. From 1991 to November 28, 1999, the restaurant was closed. In the neighbourhood of this tower at 53°35'30,98" N and 11°27'19,8" E, there is a 273-metre-high, radio mast for FM-radio and TV.

Godern is a village and a former municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Since 1 January 2012, it is part of the municipality Pinnow.
