Schuby (Danish: Skovby) is a municipality in the district Schleswig-Flensburg, in Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. It is only a few kilometres west from Schleswig. The name comes from the Danish "Skovby", meaning the "Village in the Woods". Schuby is located on the Bundesautobahn 7, from which it has its "own" exit. Schuby is part of the Amt ("collective municipality") Arensharde. The ancestors of Stanford Computer Scientist Donald Knuth emigrated from Schuby.Carles Puigdemont was arrested at a gas station in this town.

The Globe of Gottorf is a 17th-century, large, walk-in globe of the Earth and the celestial sphere. It measures 3.1 meters in diameter. Conceived and constructed at Gottorf Castle near Schleswig, it was later transferred to the Kunstkamera museum in Saint Petersburg in Russia. Following a fire in 1747 most of the globe had to be reconstructed. A modern replica was constructed in 2005 at the original location near Schleswig. The globe features a map of the Earth's surface on the outside and a map of star constellations with astronomical and mythological symbols on the inside. Turned manually or by water power, it demonstrates the movement of the heavens to those seated inside. It was a predecessor of the modern planetarium. The globe was built between 1650 and 1664 on the request of Frederick III, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp. The construction was supervised by Frederick's court scholar and librarian Adam Olearius and carried out by the gunsmith Andreas Bösch from Limburg an der Lahn.

Gottorf Castle (German: Schloss Gottorf, Danish: Gottorp Slot, Low German: Slott Gottorp) is a castle and estate in the city of Schleswig, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is one of the most important secular buildings in Schleswig-Holstein, and has been rebuilt and expanded several times in its over eight hundred years of history, changing from a medieval castle to a Renaissance fortress to a Baroque palace.It is the ancestral home of the Holstein-Gottorp branch of the House of Oldenburg, from which emerged in the 18th century, among other things, four Swedish kings and several Russian Emperors. It is situated on an island in the Schlei, about 40 km from the Baltic Sea.

Danevirke Museum (German: Danewerkmuseum) is a museum located a few kilometers just outside the city of Schleswig, Schleswig-Holstein, and the text inside the museum is written in both Danish and German. It opened in 1990 and focuses on the history of Dannewerk from the Viking Age to the present, including an archaeological park.

The A. P. Møller School (Danish: A. P. Møller Skolen) is a Danish gymnasium in Schleswig (Danish: Slesvig), Southern Schleswig, Germany. Inaugurated in September 2008, it was a gift to the Danish minority of Southern Schleswig from the A. P. Møller Foundation. It is named after the Danish shipping magnate of the same name. The school is situated at a scenic site, overlooking the Schlei Inlet. Built without traditional budget restraints to the design of C. F. Møller Architects, the school is noted for the high quality of its architecture and the materials used and won 2010 RIBA European Award for its design. Furniture include Arne Jacobsen sofas and chairs and artwork includes a light installation of the Solar System by Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The school is designed using principles from the Danish education system. As a result, the new school building comprises a variety of flexible spaces that can adapt to the self-driven and varied learning experiences that are encouraged.
