Missunde (Danish: Mysunde, Old Norse Mjósund "narrow strait") is a village on the Schlei coast of Schwansen in Southern Schleswig in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, about 7 miles from Schleswig. It is part of the municipality Kosel. It has a ferry over the Schlei to Angeln. Knud Lavard built a fort there in 1120. It is near the east end of the Dannewerk. The ferry site at Missunde was above all important and up to the 19th century much fought over, since it is at the narrowest place on the Schlei. Missunde was mentioned first in 1115 under the name Versund (= "ferry sound"). Since the Slavic Wends sometimes tried to settle in the area, the ferry site was repeatedly fortified. Thus are in Brodersby (beyond the Schlei in Angeln) the remains of a castle and the Margarethenwalls; but in the middle of the 11th century were several very bloody battles with the Wends. After King Charles X Gustav of Sweden, together with Brandenburg, had defeated the Polish army near Warsaw in 1656, its troops passed Missunde, where they wreaked destruction on the area. In the Great Northern War at the beginning of the 18th century, war again came to Missunde, and in 1849 in the First and in 1864 in the Second Schleswig War. The 1864 Battle of Mysunde, the first battle of the Second Schleswig War, was memorialized by Erik Henningsen in his painting Captain Hertel at Mysunde. The battle was also an important victory for the Danes, as they held the village against the Prussian infantry despite being outnumbers by 4 to 1. During these battles the inhabitants of Missunde likely fled to the castle in Brodersby. Since 1960 there has been a vehicle ferry connecting Missunde and Brodersby. In the year 2003 it was renewed. Until 1928 Missunde belonged to the property district Ornum. Today Missunde has about 500 inhabitants and is set up for tourism. There are a sport boat dock with approximately 30 beds, holiday houses, and catering trade enterprises.

Brodersby-Goltoft is a municipality in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. In March 2018 the former municipality of Goltoft was merged into Brodersby, and the municipality was renamed into Brodersby-Goltoft.

The Füsinger Au (German pronunciation: [ˈfyzɪŋɐ ˈaʊ̯] ; also Loiter Au, German pronunciation: [ˈlɔɪ̯tɐ ˈaʊ̯] ; Danish: Fysing Å / Løjt Å) is a river in the north of Schleswig-Holstein (Danish: Slesvig and Holsten respectively), Germany. The Füsinger Au starts north of Idstedt (Danish: Isted), flows through the lakes Idstedter See and Langsee (Danish: Isted Sø and Langesø respectively), passes the village Loit (Danish: Løjt) and discharges into the Schlei (Danish: Slien) near Füsing (a district of Schaalby) (Danish: Fysing and Skålby).

Ascheffel (Danish: Askfelt) is a municipality in Rendsburg-Eckernförde, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The location of Ascheffel is south of the municipality of Hummelfeld, north of Ahlefeld-Bistensee, and east of Brekendorf.

Hütten was an Amt ("collective municipality") in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The seat of the Amt was in Ascheffel. In January 2008, it was merged with the Amt Wittensee to form the Amt of Hüttener Berge. The Amt of Hütten consisted of the following municipalities: Ahlefeld Ascheffel Bistensee Brekendorf Damendorf Hütten Osterby Owschlag

The Aschberg is a hill, 98 m above sea level (NN), in the Hütten Hills Nature Park in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. In good weather, the view reaches as far as the Baltic Sea. The Nature Park Way, which links five nature parks in Schleswig-Holstein for ramblers, runs over the Aschberg. Since 1930, the 7-metre-high Bismarck statue has stood on the Aschberg. Following a resolution by the Knivsberg Gesellschaft, it was salvaged in 1919 from the alcove of the Bismarck tower on the Knivsberg near Apenrade in North Schleswig. The statue, based on a design by sculptor, Adolf Brütt, was made by the Berlin metal sculptor, Gustav Lind, in copper repoussé work. In the late 19th century an observation tower, made of wood, was first erected on the highest point, but it was replaced by a newer wooden tower after just a few years. This roughly 10-metre-high tower was called the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Turm (Emperor William Tower). It existed until 1918.In 2012 and 2013 the roughly 10 hectare area on the Aschberg was remodelled at a cost of 11 million euros. After three years of planning and 18 months of construction, a hotel was built with 30 double rooms, a seminar building with restaurant and a roughly 20-metre-high observation and climbing tower. The opening of the climbing tower, the erection of an adjacent multi-function area and opening of a youth hostel followed in 2014.

Hütten (Danish: Hytten) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated approximately 8 km southwest of Eckernförde. Hütten is part of the Amt ("collective municipality") Hüttener Berge. The seat of the Amt is in Groß Wittensee.
