Lincoln, Rhode Island

The Whipple–Cullen House and Barn is an historic farmstead on Old River Road in Lincoln, Rhode Island. The main house is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, five bays wide, with a large central chimney and a gable roof. An addition extends to the rear, and a 19th-century porch is on the side of the house. The barn, dating to the late 19th century, is north of the house, and there is a former farm shed, now converted to a garage, to its south. The property is located across the street from the Lincoln town offices. The house, built c. 1740, is one of the town's least-altered 18th century houses, and the barn is a rare survivor of the town's agrarian past.The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Quinnville is a village incorporated into the Town of Lincoln, Rhode Island. It is the smallest of the seven villages within Lincoln, bordered by the villages of Albion at the north, Limerock to the west, Lonsdale to the south, and by the Blackstone River to the east.

Butterfly Pond, also known as Aldrich Brook, is a body of water in the town of Lincoln, in Providence County, Rhode Island.

St. Joseph Church is parish of the Roman Catholic Church in Cumberland, Rhode Island within the Diocese of Providence. It is known for its historic campus at 1303 Mendon Road, which includes a Gothic Revival style church along with two late 19th-century, clapboard-sheathed, wood-frame structures on the east side of Mendon Road. The church and its accompanying buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 as St. Joseph's Church Complex.

Berkeley Mill Village is a historic district encompassing the mill village of Berkeley in Cumberland, Rhode Island. The village is roughly bounded by Martin Street and Mendon Road on the north and east, railroad tracks to the west, and St. Joseph Cemetery to the south. The village, including a mill complex and mill employee housing, was built in 1872 by the Lonsdale Company. Most of the residential structures built are two-story brick duplexes, although Mendon Street is lined with a number of fine Queen Anne Victorian houses. A c. 1892 Stick-style church building (now used for non-religious purposes), stands on Mendon Street at the northern end of the district.In 1922, it's textile mills were temporarily shutdown by the New England Textile Strike over an attempted wage cut and hours increase.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

The Old Ashton Historic District is a historic district encompassing an early 18th-century industrial area along Lower River Road in Lincoln, Rhode Island. It includes the site of the first textile mill in Lincoln, which was established in 1810–15, and whose original mill building no longer survives. The proprietors of the mill built a series of modest worker houses on Lower River Road, which are now separated from the mill site by a section of the Blackstone Canal. The only structure near the mill site is the Kelly House, built in the 1820s by Wilbur Kelly, one of the mill owners. The area is now a stopping point in Blackstone River Bikeway State Park, with interpretive signs explaining the area's history. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Hearthside is a historic house in Lincoln, Rhode Island at 677 Great Road (Rt. 123), at the intersection of Breakneck Hill Road. Stephen Hopkins Smith built this Federal style house in 1810 of fieldstone and it contains 10 fireplaces or hearths. Smith allegedly built the house with winnings from the Louisiana state lottery to unsuccessfully woo a woman from Providence. Frederick C. Sayles bought the property in 1901. Hearthside served as a private residence until 1996 until the town of Lincoln purchased the property and the "Friends of Hearthside", a nonprofit organization, became overseers of the property. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Ashton Historic District is a historic district in Cumberland, Rhode Island. The district consists of a mill and an adjacent mill village that was built for the workers of the mill. It lies between Mendon Road, Scott Road, Angell Road, Store Hill Road, Front Street and Middle Street. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1984. In 1867, in a program of further expansion, the Lonsdale Company erected a large, three and-one-half-story, mansard-roof brick mill at Ashton on the east side of the Blackstone River north of Lonsdale. It was later enlarged to four full stories with a flat roof.A compact group of associated brick row houses and other buildings, including a handsome mansard-roofed office, also were built. This mill played a major role in 19th-century textile technology and was the site of the first large-scale test of the high-speed Sawyer spindle, one of the earliest of its type developed in the United States. The mill houses here are noteworthy for their simple form and dense arrangement. In 1922, it's textile mills were temporarily shutdown by the New England Textile Strike over an attempted wage cut and hours increase.The village is tucked into a narrow, low flood plain site at the bottom of a bluff carrying Mendon Road (Rhode Island Route 122) in this section.

The Israel Arnold House is an historic house on Great Road in Lincoln, Rhode Island. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, set on a hillside lot on the south side of Great Road. The main block is five bays wide, with a central chimney rising through the gable roof. A 1+1⁄2-story gambrel-roofed ell extends to one side. The ell is the oldest portion of the house, built c. 1720 by someone named Olney. The main block was built c. 1760. The house was owned into the 20th century by four generations of individuals named Israel Arnold.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 1970.

Lonsdale Sports Arena was a one-third mile (0.54 km) high-banked paved oval race track located 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on Mendon Road (Rhode Island Route 122) in Cumberland, Rhode Island, on the banks of the Blackstone River. Ironically, its location near the river would prove a key factor in its ultimate demise. The track operated from 1947 to 1956. Its name was a reference to the Lonsdale historic district in the towns of Cumberland and Lincoln. A Stop & Shop plaza now occupies where the arena was.

Lincoln High School is a school located in Lincoln, Rhode Island (in Providence County). Opened in 1964, the school has served as the main public high school for the town since. The official nickname of the school's athletic teams is the Lions. Its current enrollment as of 2024 is 989 students.

Lime Rock (Limerock) is a village and historic district in Lincoln, Providence County, Rhode Island, United States, near Rhode Island Route 146. The village was named after the limestone quarries in the area, which started in the 17th century, and continue to the present where Conklin Limestone Company now operates. Because of the abundance of limestone in the area many houses had massive end chimneys and were called "stone enders," a distinctly Rhode Island style of architecture. The historic district includes 21 historically significant properties in an area extending from Wilbur Road (formerly Jeremiah Smith Hill Road), just west of its junction with Old Louisquisset Pike, eastward to Great Road, and then along Great Road as far as Simon Sayles Road. Among these properties are three quarries, and the ruins of three old lime kilns. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
