Unity Township, Pennsylvania

Chestnut Ridge is the westernmost ridge of the Allegheny Mountains in Pennsylvania, United States. It is located primarily within the Laurel Highlands region of southwestern Pennsylvania, extending into northern West Virginia.

Yohogania County was created by the new state of Virginia in 1776, in an area long disputed between Virginia and Pennsylvania. The county ceased to exist after the border dispute between the two states was resolved in the 1780s. Thus, it is sometimes referred to as a "lost county," although 1.5 million people live within the territory it once claimed, which encompasses two entire counties and parts of four others in two states. The problem arose through the complex and conflicting manner of granting territory and defining boundaries during the Colonial period. The North American continent was not surveyed until long after various land grants were made to individual colonies, and such land grants and even governmental entities frequently overlapped.

Baggaley is an unincorporated community in Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a coal town, with houses built by the Puritan Coke Company of Latrobe to provide homes for its employees. The Puritan mine and coke works, which were once situated on the north side of town, operated from 1897 to 1922. Authors Edward Muller and Ronald Carlisle, writing in 1994, found no structures remaining from the mine or coke works.

WSGM (104.7 FM), is a radio station broadcasting from Tracy City, Tennessee broadcasting an all-gospel format. WSGM is owned and operated by the Cumberland Communications Cooperation. The current president of the cooperation is Dr. Byron Harbolt, well known in the area for offering healthcare to patients for very low prices. WSGM Radio first went on the air in 1994, barely beating the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) deadline. The general manager at the time, Jerry Fletcher, conducted Grundy County's first radio broadcast which only lasted about 6 hours. All the music at the time was played off of a reel to reel machine.

WHJB is a classic hits radio station serving the Westmoreland County area, including eastern Allegheny County. The station is owned by St. Pier Group LLC, a subsidiary of Renda Broadcasting Corporation, and broadcasts at 107.1 MHz with an ERP of 2.3 KW. WHJB is licensed to serve the community of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Its transmitter is located in Unity Township, Pennsylvania.

WCNS (1480 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Latrobe, Pennsylvania. It simulcasts with co-owned WXJX 910 AM in Apollo, Pennsylvania. They carry a conservative talk radio format and are owned by Steve Clendenin, through licensee Maryland Media One, LLC and operated by John Fredericks. The two stations formerly subscribed to the nationally syndicated JACK FM programming service. WCNS has a daytime power of 500 watts using a non-directional signal, but at night, it switches to a directional antenna and increases power to 1,000 watts, using a four-tower array. Programming is also heard on 250-watt FM translator W298DH at 107.5 MHz.

Arnold Palmer's Latrobe Country Club is a private golf club located near Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The course is where golf legend Arnold Palmer learned to play the game of golf from his father. The grounds are located in Unity Township in Westmoreland County, south of Latrobe, and nearer Youngstown.

Hostetter is a census-designated place located in Unity Township, Westmoreland County in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. It is located near Pennsylvania Route 981. As of the 2010 census the population was 740 residents.

Greater Latrobe Senior High School is a public high school in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, United States. Greater Latrobe is the only senior high school in the Greater Latrobe School District which serves Latrobe, Youngstown, and Unity Township.

Youngstown is a borough in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. Youngstown was incorporated on April 2, 1831. The population was 326 at the 2010 census. The borough has its own post office, with zip code 15696, established on April 1, 1813.

Arnold Palmer Regional Airport (IATA: LBE, ICAO: KLBE, FAA LID: LBE) is in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States, two miles (3 km) southwest of Latrobe and about 33 miles (53 km) southeast of Pittsburgh. It was formerly Westmoreland County Airport; it was renamed in September 1999 for Arnold Palmer as part of his 70th birthday celebration. Palmer learned to fly at the airport, and the dedication ceremony included Governor Tom Ridge and a flyover of three A-10s of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021 categorized it as a non-hub primary commercial service facility.Passenger traffic at the airport has significantly grown since Spirit Airlines began serving the airport in 2011, jumping from roughly 10,000 passengers in 2010 to 310,000 passengers in 2019, a 3000% increase. Spirit Airlines is the only commercial passenger carrier and currently flies two nonstop routes to one city in Florida and one city in South Carolina from the airport.
