South Franklin Township is a township in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,864 at the 2020 census.

PONY Baseball and Softball is a non-profit organization with headquarters in Washington, Pennsylvania. The bridge is made of stone and was a part of the Cumberland Road (later National Road) and helped transport wagons and stagecoaches amid the American westward expansion in the early 19th century. It passes over Buffalo Creek.In 1947, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission installed a historical marker noting the historic importance of the bridge. It is designated as a historic bridge by the Washington County History & Landmarks Foundation.

The school's official colors are navy blue and gold and "Highlanders" has been adopted as the official school nickname. The McGuffey High School building is jointly used by McGuffey Middle School. The school and the district are named for William Holmes McGuffey, author of the McGuffey Reader, who was born within the district boundaries.
