White Deer Township, Pennsylvania

White Deer Creek is a tributary of the West Branch Susquehanna River in Centre County and Union County, in Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 28 miles (45 km) long and flows through Miles Township in Centre County and Hartley Township, Lewis Township, West Buffalo Township, and White Deer Township in Union County. The watershed of the creek has an area of 45.1 square miles (117 km2). Parts of the creek are designated as impaired. The creek's discharge near White Deer can be as low as 3 cubic feet per second (0.085 m3/s) or as high as 169 cubic feet per second (4.8 m3/s). White Deer Creek is a freestone stream in mountainous terrain. It is relatively small and flows through a valley that is narrow, but can be up to 1,000 feet (300 m) wide. The creek flows alongside Interstate 80 for much of its length. A significant part of the land in the creek's watershed is forested, with large areas being owned by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry. The watershed of the creek is designated as a High-Quality Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery. It has both brook trout and brown trout and is stocked with trout. White Deer Creek's name comes from the word Woap'-achtu-hanne, meaning "white-deer stream". The creek appeared on maps as early as 1759. A number of mills were erected adjacent to it during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Major historic industries in the watershed included lumbering and agriculture. A number of bridges have been erected across the creek. Much of the length of White Deer Creek is in Bald Eagle State Forest; the creek also passes through McCalls Dam State Park. Other recreational opportunities include angling and canoeing.

Watsontown River Bridge is a historic bridge in Watsontown, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania and White Deer Township, Union County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1927, and consists of nine open spandrel arches with a total length of 1,080-foot-long (330 m). It is constructed of concrete and crosses the Susquehanna River.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Warrior Run (also known as Warrior Run Creek) is a tributary of the West Branch Susquehanna River in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is 9.5 miles (15.3 km) in length. It has a watershed area of 21.6 square miles and the watershed is in Northumberland and Lycoming Counties. The main soil series in the watershed is the Berks-Weikert-Bedington series and the main land uses are agriculture and forest. The communities of Watsontown, Turbotville, and McEwensville are all in or near the watershed. The Warrior Run watershed was inhabited by Europeans in the early 1770s. Several mills and forts were built along it.

The stream is designated as an impaired waterbody due to sedimentation/siltation and unknown causes. The stream is classified as a Warmwater Fishery.

The stream is impaired by sedimentation/siltation from agriculture and is a relatively small valley stream. Several bridges have been constructed across it. The stream is designated as a Warmwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery.

Muddy Run is a tributary of the West Branch Susquehanna River in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is 5.4 miles (8.7 km) in length. The creek is several miles northeast of the community of Milton. Main land uses include agricultural land and forest. The area of the creek's watershed is 11.4 square miles (30 km2), most of which is agricultural land. Muddy Run is entirely within Turbot Township. Most of the rock in the watershed is shale. The most common soil series is the Berks-Weikert-Bedington series.

New Columbia is a census-designated place located in White Deer Township, Union County in the state of Pennsylvania. The community is located in eastern Union County along U.S. Route 15, very near to the West Branch Susquehanna River. As of the 2010 census the population was 1,013 residents.

It flows through Delaware Township, starting in the Muncy Hills. The watershed has an area of 11.7 square miles in Northumberland and Lycoming Counties. Delaware Run was reached by Europeans as early as 1737 and an area near it settled in 1769 and the community of Dewart is near Delaware Run.

Factory Bridge, also known as Horsham Bridge, is a historic wooden covered bridge in White Deer Township, Union County, Pennsylvania. It is a 60-foot-long (18 m), King and Queen truss bridge, constructed in 1880, and repaired in 1954 and 1976. It crosses the White Deer Creek.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Hopper-Snyder Homestead is a historic home located at Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1800, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five bay by two bay, rectangular stone dwelling with a wood-frame addition. It has a gable roof and interior stone chimney.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

West Milton is a census-designated place located in Kelly and White Deer Townships in Union County in the state of Pennsylvania. The community is located directly across the West Branch Susquehanna River from the borough of Milton which is located in Northumberland County, from which West Milton derived its name. West Milton is located along U.S. Route 15, a few miles south of the community of New Columbia. Between Milton and West Milton, in the river is Montgomery Island where Milton State Park is located. As of the 2010 census the population was 900 residents.
