Médan

The Island of Platais, or Island of Médan, is an island of the River Seine in France 30 kilometers downstream from Paris. It is approximately 1.7 kilometers long and located in the Yvelines department between Villennes-sur-Seine and Médan on the left bank, and Triel-sur-Seine on the right bank. It is positioned downstream from the island of Hernière from which it is separated by a narrow channel. It is administratively shared between the municipalities of Villennes-sur-Seine, Médan and Triel-sur-Seine. The island is not connected to the river banks except by ferries.In 1880, the author Émile Zola bought a little Norwegian-style chalet adjacent to the island (today it is a museum), and frequently invited his artist friends Cézanne, Manet, and Pissarro to find inspiration in the dappled island light. A stretch of the island known as "Villennes Beach" was a popular seasonal escape for Parisians who could reach it by boat trip downstream from Paris. The island's susceptibility to flooding has always been its biggest setback for any residential or commercial development. The Seine Flood Control Plan (PPRI) prohibits any construction along the river.

Villennes-sur-Seine (French pronunciation: [vilɛn syʁ sɛn] , literally Villennes on Seine) is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. Villennes-sur-Seine is located in the Seine Valley 30 km (19 mi) west of Paris. Located in the village itself are an eleventh-century church and ancient grottos.

Triel-sur-Seine (French pronunciation: [tʁijɛl syʁ sɛn], literally Triel on Seine) is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. It is positioned approximately 11 km (6.8 mi) to the north-west of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. The city is known for the "Fête du Flan", literally Flan Party, which takes place every last weekend of September on the banks of the Seine. This is a garage sale. The bakeries of the city have on this occasion several stands on which it is possible to consume flan. The city entered the Guinness Book in 1995 for having made the largest flan in the world (5.10 m in diameter).

École Notre-Dame les Oiseaux is a Catholic private school in Verneuil sur Seine, France. It serves levels primaire (primary) through lycée (senior high school/sixth form college). Notre-Dame International High School is the international school on the same property.

Notre-Dame International High School (NDIHS) in Verneuil-sur-Seine, a residential area west of Paris, France, is a private bilingual international school and is part of École Notre-Dame les Oiseaux. Notre-Dame Les Oiseaux school was established in 1929 on the site of the 16th century Château de Verneuil. This is one of the American schools in Paris metropolitan area. The school welcomes boarding and day school students and provides education for grades 10 to 12 (15 to 18 years old). The school is a branch of the Nacel International School System (NISS) which is an international network of American styled High Schools such as Saint Paul Preparatory School in Minnesota and Saint Paul American School in Beijing, China. Campus PSG, officially known as the Campus Paris Saint-Germain, is the training ground of Paris Saint-Germain Football Club. Located in Poissy, it replaced the Camp des Loges, the club's historical training facility in nearby Saint-Germain-en-Laye.Owned and financed by the club, the venue will bring together PSG's football (male and female), handball and judo teams, as well as the football and handball academies. Each division will have its own dedicated facilities. The Campus PSG will have its own stadium, which will complement PSG's home ground of the Parc des Princes. With a total capacity of 5,000, including over 3,000 seats, the arena will be the largest football stadium in the Yvelines department. It will host matches for PSG's youth and female sides in official competitions such as the UEFA Youth League and the UEFA Women's Champions League.Twenty-five minutes away from the Parc des Princes and fifteen minutes from the Camp des Loges, the 74-hectare site is part of PSG's global strategy to become one of the best-performing multi-sport clubs in the world. Construction began in February 2020 and is expected to end in 2024. The club's investment is reported to be in the region of €350m. PSG entrusted the project to French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and his architectural firm Wilmotte & Associés, known for designing the Allianz Riviera and the Kaliningrad Stadium.

Carrières-sous-Poissy (French: [kaʁjɛʁ su pwasi] ) is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. The town sits on the bank of the Seine River, directly opposite the commune of Poissy. Notable landmarks in Carrières-sous-Poissy include the Château Champfleury, the Château Vanderbilt and St. Joseph's Church.

Chanteloup-les-Vignes (French pronunciation: [ʃɑ̃tlu le viɲ]) is a commune and town in the Yvelines department, Île-de-France, north central France. The town was used for a large part of the film La Haine.
