Vockerode

Vockerode Power Plant (also called Elbe Power Plant) was a lignite and later also gas-fired power plant in Vockerode, East Germany. It was built in 1937 and shut-down between 1994 and 1998.

The seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was in Oranienbaum. It was disbanded in January 2011. Griesen is a village and a former municipality in the district of Wittenberg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2011, it is part of the town Oranienbaum-Wörlitz.

The Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm, (German: Dessau-Wörlitzer Gartenreich) is a cultural landscape and World Heritage Site in Germany, located between the city of Dessau and the town of Wörlitz in Central Germany. One of the first and largest English parks in Germany and continental Europe, it was created in the late 18th century under the regency of Duke Leopold III of Anhalt-Dessau. Today, the cultural landscape of Dessau-Wörlitz encompasses an area of 142 km2 (55 sq mi) within the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Because of its exceptional landscape design and testimony to the ideals of the Age of Enlightenment, the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm was designated as a world heritage site in 2000.

Brandhorst is a village and a former municipality in the district of Wittenberg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2011, it is part of the town Oranienbaum-Wörlitz.

Zahna-Elster is a town in the district of Wittenberg, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It was formed on 1 January 2011 by the merger of the former municipalities Zahna, Dietrichsdorf, Elster (Elbe), Gadegast, Leetza, Listerfehrda, Mühlanger, Zemnick and Zörnigall. On 29 May 2013 the incorporation of Mühlanger was reverted as a result of a decision of the Constitutional court of Saxony-Anhalt, but it was incorporated again on 1 January 2014. These former municipalities are now the 9 Ortschaften (municipal divisions) of the town Zahna-Elster.

It was formed on 1 January 2011 by the merger of the former towns Oranienbaum and Wörlitz and the former municipalities Brandhorst, Gohrau, Griesen, Horstdorf, Kakau, Rehsen, Riesigk and Vockerode. These former municipalities are now Ortschaften (municipal divisions) of the town Oranienbaum-Wörlitz.

The Wörlitz Synagogue is a former Jewish congregation and synagogue built in 1790 by order of Duke Leopold III of Anhalt-Dessau. It is located within the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.
