Maylands, Western Australia

Maylands railway station is a station in Maylands, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Midland line and Airport line, between Mount Lawley station and Meltham station. It is 4.5 kilometres (2.8 mi), or 8 minutes by train, from Perth station. Services on each line run every 12 minutes during peak and every 15 minutes between peak for a combined frequency of a train every 6 minutes during peak and every 7.5 minutes outside peak. The station first opened in 1896 with two side platforms. It was rebuilt as an island platform in the mid to late 1960s, as the Midland line was being converted from narrow gauge to dual gauge, which was not compatible with the side platforms. Maylands station underwent a refurbishment in 2001, in which disability access was improved and the station and surrounding area were beautified.

The Peninsula Hotel is a heritage-listed former hotel in Maylands, Western Australia. Located at 221 Railway Parade, opposite Maylands railway station, it was constructed c. 1906 by owner Friederich Liebe. The historic Edwardian-style hotel was saved from demolition in the 1970s, becoming a space for several community groups, and later a Dôme cafe.

Seventh Avenue Bridge was a historic bridge in Maylands, Western Australia that was demolished and replaced in 2014. It carried vehicle traffic over the Midland railway line immediately south of Maylands railway station.

Meltham railway station is a railway station in Bayswater, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Midland railway line, between Maylands railway station and Bayswater railway station. It is 5.5 kilometres (2.8 mi), or 10 minutes by train, from Perth railway station Services run every 10 minutes during peak and every 15 minutes between peak. The station was built during the late 1940s, after first being promised in 1898, and after decades of campaigning by residents and the Bayswater Road Board. The station underwent a refurbishment in 2012. Development of higher density buildings around Meltham station has been a contentious issue since the mid 2010s.

Frank Drago Reserve is a sports reserve in Bayswater, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is home to the Bayswater City Soccer Club, Bayswater Bowls and Recreation Club, Bayswater Croquet Club and Bayswater Tennis Club.

The Albany Bell Castle is a heritage-listed building at the corner of Guildford Road and Thirlmere Road in the Perth suburb of Mount Lawley. It was built in 1914 for the catering company Albany Bell Ltd as a factory to manufacture cakes and confectionery for its eleven tearooms in Perth and three in Kalgoorlie and Boulder. The site chosen was 19 acres (77,000 m2) of land two miles (3 km) from Perth, with natural springs that could supply 100,000 gallons of fresh water per day. The company's founder, Peter Albany Bell, used ideas derived from the Cadbury factory in Bournville United Kingdom, to incorporate superior working conditions and amenities for employees.

Maylands Brickworks is a historical brickworks factory in Maylands, Western Australia. It operated between 1927 and 1983.

Inglewood Post Office is a heritage-listed post office at 885 Beaufort Street, Inglewood, Western Australia, Australia. It was added to the Australian Commonwealth Heritage List on 8 November 2011.

St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital is a 205-bed private hospital located on the banks of the Swan River in Mount Lawley, Western Australia. Established in 1937, the hospital was initially known as St Anne's Hospital and then became Mercy Hospital in 1996. In November 2013 St John of God Health Care purchased the hospital and subsequently changed the name to St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital.St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital is a division of St John of God Health Care.

Belmont Park Racecourse is one of the two major horse racing venues within the Perth, Western Australia metropolitan area, the other being Ascot Racecourse, and is located just outside of the central business district on the Burswood Peninsula surrounded by the Swan River. The track has a circumference of 1,699 metres (5,574 ft) with a 333-metre (1,093 ft) straight. Belmont is Perth's winter racecourse, with fully enclosed facilities for spectators.On 24 December 1910 Belmont Park held its first harness race meeting, conducted by the Western Australian Trotting Association (WATA). The WATA continued to conduct race meetings on a fortnightly basis, using both Belmont Park and the Claremont Showground as venues, until the harness racing commenced on the WACA Ground track, on 28 June 1913. In January 1911 the first aeroplane flight in Western Australia was conducted from the Belmont Park Racecourse. The racecourse served as Perth's first regular landing area until a more suitable site was found at Langley Park in 1919.

Mount Lawley is a Transperth railway station 3.2 kilometres (2.0 mi) from Perth railway station, in Western Australia, on the Midland Line and Airport line.

The Airport line is a commuter rail service on the Transperth network, in Perth, Western Australia, that officially opened on 9 October 2022, with regular services commencing the following day. It is 25.4 kilometres (15.8 mi) long, and goes between High Wycombe and Claremont, via Perth Airport and Bayswater. The section between High Wycombe and Bayswater uses all new infrastructure, built between 2016 and 2022. In contrast, the section between Bayswater and Perth shares infrastructure with the Midland and Morley–Ellenbrook lines, and the section between Perth and Claremont with the Fremantle line. The new infrastructure between High Wycombe and Bayswater was constructed as part of the Forrestfield–Airport Link project, the purpose of which was to provide a rail service to the airport and to the areas east of the airport. It consists of 8 kilometres (5 mi) of twin-bored tunnel; the longest bored tunnels in Perth. As part of the project, three new stations were constructed, namely Redcliffe, Airport Central, and High Wycombe.
