Nazareth, Pennsylvania

The Nazareth Historic District is a national historic district located in the center of the Borough of Nazareth, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, which is located ten miles northeast of Bethlehem and seven miles northwest of Easton.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Whitefield House and Gray Cottage are two historic homes on the Ephrata Tract in Nazareth, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Construction on both buildings began in 1740, by Moravian settlers who moved to Nazareth after the failure of their mission to Native Americans and Europeans in the Savannah, Georgia area, 1735–1740. The two structures were added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 1, 1980. The Ephrata Tract and its buildings are owned by the Moravian Historical Society, and act as the Society's headquarters.

Nazareth Hall Tract is a historic Moravian school complex located at Nazareth, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It consists of the manor house Nazareth Hall, the 1840 Moravian Church, the "First Room" Building (Parsonage), the Principal's House, the Single Sister's House, and a monument. In 1759, it became the central boarding school for sons of Moravian parents known as Nazareth Hall. The school closed in 1928-1929. Nazareth Hall is a colonial mansion built in 1756, and is a solid masonry building with a gambrel roof measuring 100 feet long and 46 feet deep. The 1840 Moravian Church is a 2 1/2 story stucco coated stone building with a gable roof. The Parsonage was built in the 1870s and is a three-story brick structure. The original section of the "First Room" Building was built in 1850, with additions and modifications made in 1855, 1875, and the 1920s. The Principal's House is a two-story building built in 1819, with additions and modifications made in the 1870s and in 1910. The Single Sister's House was built in 1784, and is a three-story building with a single pitched roof. It was converted for school use in 1874-1875.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Memorial Library of Nazareth & Vicinity, also known as the Nazareth Memorial Library, is a public library located in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. It serves the borough of Nazareth and the townships of Bushkill, Upper Nazareth, and Lower Nazareth.The library was established in 1946.

McCollum and Post Silk Mill is a historic silk mill located at Nazareth, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1913, and is a two-story, rectangular brick industrial building measuring 51 feet, 6 inches, wide and 150 feet long. A one-story brick addition was built in 1967. In 2001, it was adapted for use as an apartment building. It housed a silk mill, and later clothing manufacturers, until its conversion.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Northampton County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 312,951. Its county seat is Easton. The county was formed in 1752 from parts of Bucks County. Its namesake was the county of Northamptonshire in England, and the county seat of Easton was named for Easton Neston, a country house in Northamptonshire. Northampton County and Lehigh County to its west combine to form the eastern Pennsylvania region known as the Lehigh Valley; Lehigh County, with a population of 374,557 as of the 2020 U.S. census, is the more highly populated of the two counties. Both counties are part of the Philadelphia media market, the fourth-largest in the nation. Northampton County has historically been a national leader in heavy manufacturing, especially of cement, steel, and other industrial products. Atlas Portland Cement Company, the world's largest cement manufacturer from 1895 until 1982, was based in Northampton in the county. Bethlehem Steel, the world's second-largest manufacturer of steel for most of the 20th century, was based in Bethlehem, the county's most populous city, prior to its dissolution in 2003. Northampton County borders Carbon County and the Poconos to its north, Lehigh County to its west, Bucks County to its south, and the Delaware River and New Jersey to its east. The Lehigh River, a 109-mile-long (175 km) tributary of the Delaware River, flows through the county.

Nazareth High School is a public high school located in Nazareth, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. It is the only high school in the Nazareth Area School District and serves grades 9 through 12. Its mascot is the Blue Eagle and school colors are blue and white. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,576 students and 93.68 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis) for a student–teacher ratio of 16.82, according to National Center for Education Statistics data. There were 226 students eligible for free lunch and 25 eligible for reduced-cost lunch. As of the 2009–2010 school year, the high school obtained full accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. In 2012, Nazareth Area High School received the Keystone Award from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for achieving annual progress for two consecutive years as measured by the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) tests. Nazareth Area High School has also appeared on the College Boards Advanced Placement Honor Roll for four consecutive years. Nazareth Area High School has an AP test passing rate of 87%, above state average of 69% and global average of 61%.

The 2001 Lehigh Valley Grand Prix, known informally as the 2001 Nazareth 225, was a Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) motor race held on May 6, 2001, at Nazareth Speedway in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA. It was the 4th round of the 2001 CART season. Rookie Scott Dixon won the race by just four tenths of a second over Kenny Bräck, while Paul Tracy took third. Dixon scored his first and only CART win after he successfully gambled on a fuel-saving strategy that gave PacWest Racing its last win before the team folded in 2002 as well as its first win since 1997. Bräck's first podium of the season was the prelude to two consecutive wins at Motegi and Milwaukee, putting him solidly in the championship hunt. For Tracy, it was his second podium in three races, but he would not record another for the rest of the season. The race was the first after the Firestone Firehawk 600 fiasco, and there were concerns about the G-Forces experienced at Nazareth that were ultimately unfounded. This would also be the last time that CART raced at the speedway, allowing open-wheel rival Indy Racing League to run its own 225-lap race from 2002 to 2004.

The Indian Tower is a lookout tower that sits at the highest point of the original 5,000 acres (20 km2) of Nazareth, Pennsylvania. The original structure was a pavilion called "the summer house" built in 1867 by John Jordan, Jr. Jordan later donated $200 to the Moravian Historical Society to replace the pavilion with the present-day tower, which was completed in 1916. The Indian Tower is commonly thought to have been a lookout for hostile Native Americans. In actuality, the local Native Americans had assimilated in Pennsylvania, and the tower received its name from the Moravian Graveyard it overlooks, which contains some Indian burials. The Moravian Graveyard was in use from 1744 to 1762. However, out of the 67 people buried there, only four were Native Americans. The original Indians would have been from the nearby village of Welagamika. The height of the tower is 30 feet. The tower has been used for many purposes: as a civil defense lookout during World War II, as a repeater station for emergency services, and also as a place to rest and reflect.

Nazareth Speedway is a defunct auto racing facility near Nazareth in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania which operated from 1910 to 2004 in two distinct course configurations. In its early years, it was a dirt twin oval layout. In 1987 it was reopened as a paved tri-oval that measured just slightly under 1 mile. The facility is often linked to local drivers Mario and Michael Andretti's early racing careers. It was also associated with Frankie Schneider due to his large number of wins on the two dirt tracks.As of November 2015, the site was purchased by Raceway Properties LLC under David Jaindl. There are no current plans to return racing to the facility.

Eastlawn Gardens is part of the Lehigh Valley metropolitan area, which had a population of 861,899 and was the 68th-most populous metropolitan area in the U.S. as of the 2020 census.
