Charnwood College is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form that is located on Thorpe Hill in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England.

Garendon High School was a middle school located in Thorpe Acre, Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. It contained three years (7, 8 and 9). Altogether, there were 558 pupils in the 2008–2009 school year. The school closed over Summer 2012.

De Lisle College (formerly De Lisle Roman Catholic Comprehensive School, then De Lisle Catholic Science College and sometimes called De Lisle School) is a co-educational secondary school with academy status in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. According to the Ofsted website, it has 1,400 pupils. It was designated as a science specialist school in 2003. It draws the majority of its pupils from seven local Catholic primary schools, including Bishop Ellis, Sacred Heart, St Mary's, St Winefride's, St. Clare's, St Francis and Holy Cross Academy. Since September 2018, it has been a part of the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi-Academy Trust.

The Elite Athlete Centre and Hotel is a training base and hotel opened on the Loughborough University campus in November 2018. The hotel is run by Imago Venues, the service that manages conferences and events at Loughborough University.The Hotel is part of Loughborough University's Student Village project which sees 617 new student bedrooms in new halls of residence opening in October 2018 and October 2019. The project is being managed by Faithful+Gould.

The Pilkington Library is the academic library at Loughborough University, situated in the West Park of the university campus at Loughborough, Leicestershire, in the East Midlands of England. It is named after Lord Pilkington. Built to an unusual design on an unusual site in the West Park area of the campus, the library building is immediately adjacent to Village Park. As it is adjacent to the University's more recent Elvyn Richards halls, its Combined Heat and Power plant can be used to cool the library building with otherwise wasted heat.The Pilkington Library opened in 1980 as the main library to the then Loughborough University of Technology; the university library had previously been located in the Herbert Manzoni building which provided around a quarter of the capacity of the new facility, with the Fairbairn Library (the Loughborough College of Art and Design Library before the merger of LCAD - renamed LUSAD post merger - and the University in 1998), located at the far extremity of the campus adjacent to the RNIB College and Loughborough College. At a later date this building was closed when the library stock was re-located to the Pilkington Library.

The Engineering Subject Centre (EngSC) was one of 24 subject centres within the Higher Education Academy from 2000 to 2011. The academy encouraged, supported and enabled teaching excellence in the United Kingdom higher education community. This was achieved through development of research and evaluation both for the higher education (HE) community as a whole and through the discipline-specific expertise of the subject centres. The stated aim of the academy is: "to improve the learning experience for students". The Engineering Subject Centre was based in the Faculty of Engineering at Loughborough University. It drew upon the expertise of engineering academics and educationalists from across the higher education sector, and worked closely with the engineering professional bodies.

Burleigh Court Conference Centre and Hotel is a four-star hotel and conference centre located on Loughborough University campus. Opened in April 1991, Burleigh Court Conference Centre and Hotel has 225 bedrooms and 26 meeting rooms.

Thorpe Acre is an area of Loughborough, Leicestershire. Until the mid-twentieth century, it was a hamlet of about twenty houses or cottages, several of which survive. There is also a nineteenth-century church with contemporary extensions, All Saints Church Thorpe Acre with Dishley (not to be confused with All Saints Church in Loughborough town centre), as well as an old hostelry, The Plough Inn. The population is included in the Loughborough-Garendon and Loughborough Ashby Wards of Charnwood Borough Council. Following the Second World War, Loughborough needed more housing and part of Thorpe Acre was developed, largely for employees of Brush Engineering Works, during the 1950s. A new shopping area with a selection of local shops, now known colloquially as The Ville, was built. It was at this time that the village green was created; the area where the green is was formerly built-up. In the 1960s and early 1970s, Thorpe Acre was chosen for a large new housing estate; these developments have completely subsumed the old village. Two of Loughborough's secondary schools, Charnwood College and De Lisle College are located on the edge of the estate, as well as Maplewell Hall and Ashmount special schools. In recent years, the council estates have suffered from crime problems and antisocial behaviour not unlike such problems experienced on many council estates up and down the United Kingdom. The area lies on the boundary of Garendon Park, one of the great Leicestershire deer parks of the eighteenth century. All Saints Church, Thorpe Acre with Dishley, was built in 1845 and extended in 1965. Dishley Church is now a ruin on the Derby Road, Loughborough. Robert Bakewell (1726–1795), the agriculturalist, is buried there.Thorpe Acre has a men's football team, established in 2017, which plays in the North Leicestershire Football League and is managed by Declan Bestwick.

Haslegrave Ground is a cricket ground in Loughborough, Leicestershire. The ground is based at Loughborough University. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1983, when Loughborough Students played Exeter University in the quarter finals of the University Athletics Union Championship. The ground held two Women's One Day Internationals in 2008, when England women played West Indies women in both matches, and hosted a single first class match in 2011 between Loughborough MCCU and Northamptonshire.

Loughborough University Football Club (also known as Loughborough Students Football Club) is an English football club representing Loughborough University, based in Loughborough, Leicestershire. The club are currently members of the United Counties League Premier Division North and play at the Loughborough University Stadium.

Burleigh Hall was a country house situated near Loughborough in the county of Leicestershire. Its land now forms part of the campus of Loughborough University.

Loughborough University (abbreviated as Lough or Lboro for post-nominals) is a public research university in the market town of Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. It has been a university since 1966, but it dates back to 1909, when Loughborough Technical Institute began with a focus on skills directly applicable in the wider world. In March 2013, the university announced it had bought the former broadcast centre at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as a second campus. The annual income of the institution for 2022–23 was £369.1 million, of which £48.3 million was from research grants and contracts, with an expenditure of £339.1 million.
