Sheepshead Bay High School is a defunct public high school in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. Closed in 2016, the building currently operates as Frank J. Macchiarola Educational Complex, housing several smaller high schools.

Brennan & Carr is a roast beef sandwich shop in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn open since 1938. It appeared on Man v. Food (season 2).Their Roast Beef sandwich has been named one of the “23 Iconic Dishes to Try in New York” and is the city’s answer to “LA’s fabled French dipped sandwiches.”One of the signatures of Brennan & Carr is their beef broth, which consists of the leftover drippings from the oven-roasted beef, poured into a heated vat, and is then used as part of the sandwich-making process. Regular customers know of 3 separate varieties of broth to use with their ordered sandwich: The "Dingle-Dangle", which is just the beef of the sandwich dipped into the broth, leaving the roll dry; the "Double Dip", where the entire sandwich is dipped into the broth; and the "K.F.J.", or "Knife and Fork Job", where an entire ladleful of broth is poured onto the entire sandwich, making the result so messy, customers have to use a knife and fork to eat it.

Sheepshead Bay Race Track was an American Thoroughbred horse racing facility built on the site of the Coney Island Jockey Club at Sheepshead Bay, New York.

The Waldbaum's Supermarket Fire was a major American fire on 2 August 1978 in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York that killed six FDNY firefighters. The Waldbaum's store at 2892 Ocean Avenue was undergoing extensive renovations, but was open for customers when the fire broke out.

Gerretsen's Mill is an 18th century tide mill, at Gravesend, Long Island, also known as Johannes Gerritsen's Mill and the Whitney mill, derived its name from a 1750s Dutch miller in the area of Marine park, Brooklyn. The mill was situated near what is now known as Garritson's Creek and Mill Pond, formerly referred to as the Strome Kil. The origin of the name can be traced back to historical references, including an Indian deed mentioning land belonging to Hugh Garretson, likely referring to the same location. The farm was parceled to Dutch settler Wolfert Gerritse van Couwenhoven (1 May 1579 – 1662),an original patentee, director of bouweries (farms), and a founder of the New Netherland colony. The three-hundred-year-old mill was destroyed by fire in 1935 by arson.

Randazzo's Clam Bar is an Italian Restaurant, opened in 1959, in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. It was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 but was able to reopen 6 months later.The restaurant appeared on Man v. Food (season 9) where host Casey Webb had the linguine with white clam sauce. Randazzo's was one of Anthony Bourdain's five favorite under-the-radar NYC restaurants. He is favorite dish is the lobster fra diavolo and he also enjoyed the chicken parmigiana, and broiled salmon. He said "portions that could have once fed an entire block on the Lower East Side."

The Hendrick I. Lott House is a historic home located at 1940 East 36th Street between Fillmore Avenue and Avenue S, in Marine Park, Brooklyn, New York City. Lott House, one of the oldest Dutch Colonial houses in Brooklyn, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a New York City designated landmark. The house remains structurally sound and virtually unchanged from the time Hendrick Lott constructed it in 1800, incorporating a section of the 1720 original homestead built by his grandfather, Johannes Lott.
