Stainforth, South Yorkshire

Stainforth & Barnby Dun is one of 21 electoral wards in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, covering the town of Stainforth and Barnby Dun. It is split between the Doncaster Central and North constituencies. In 2011 it had a population of 9,695. The ward was formed in 2015.

Hatfield and Stainforth railway station serves the towns of Hatfield and Stainforth in South Yorkshire, England. It is located 6+3⁄4 miles (10.9 km) north east of the main Doncaster station. The original station, known until the 1990s as "Stainforth and Hatfield" and was built in 1866 as a replacement for the South Yorkshire Railway's Stainforth when their line was brought to its present alignment. The station was renamed Hatfield and Stainforth in the 1990s when it was considered that Hatfield was the larger of the two and had the larger population. The Doncaster Core Strategy includes support for "refurbishment of the railway station and the creation of a rail/bus/park and ride interchange".

Doncaster Greyhound Stadium is a greyhound racing track located in Stainforth, near Doncaster, England.It is sometimes referred to as Meadow Court Stadium and was previously known as Stainforth Stadium. It is not to be confused with the former Doncaster Greyhound Track that existed near the York Road. The stadium has executive suites, a restaurant, a number of bars and fast food areas. Racing takes place every Monday and Wednesday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Stainforth railway station was a station on the South Yorkshire Railway's line between Doncaster and Thorne, serving the town of Stainforth, South Yorkshire, England.

Hatfield Colliery, also known as Hatfield Main Colliery, was a colliery in the South Yorkshire Coalfield, mining the High Hazel coal seam. The colliery was around 1 mile (1.6 km) northwest of Hatfield, South Yorkshire, adjacent north of the railway line from Doncaster to Scunthorpe (former South Yorkshire Railway, or Barnsley to Barnetby Line) northeast of Hatfield and Stainforth railway station. The colliery opened in 1916. The pit was stopped in 2001, and restarted 2007; the mine passed through a number of different owners in the early part of the 21st century, with subsequent operators entering receivership. During the same period the site was proposed as the location for high-technology coal burning power stations schemes which did not proceed. In 2013 the major Doncaster-Thorne railway line which connected South Yorkshire to the Humber ports and Scunthorpe was blocked by a landslip at the colliery spoil for around 6 months. From late 2013 the mine was employee owned by the 'Hatfield Colliery Partnership Limited'. Due to lack of demand for coal products the colliery shut down at the end of June 2015.

Fishlake is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster. It was historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. In 2001 it had a population of 628, increasing to 682 at the 2011 Census. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book where the name is given as fiscelac, from Old English fisc-lacu, 'fish-stream'.

Hatfield Main Football Club was a football club originally based in Stainforth and then Dunscroft, South Yorkshire, England. They were members of the Doncaster Saturday League Premier Division.

Ash Hill Academy (formerly Hatfield Visual Arts College) is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, at Hatfield, South Yorkshire, England. The school is based at Ash Hill Road, between Hatfield and Dunscroft, to the east of Doncaster near the A18 and M18. It educates 11- to 16-year-olds from the areas of Hatfield, Stainforth, Dunsville, Dunscroft, Hatfield Woodhouse and teenagers from other regions of Doncaster. The site is shared with Coppice School, a school for pupils with learning difficulties from ages 3–18.

Hatfield is a town and civil parish in the City of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. It had a population of 17,236 at the 2011 Census. The town is located on the A18 road between Doncaster and Scunthorpe, and to the west of the M18 motorway. It shares a railway station with Stainforth on the line between Goole and Scunthorpe, and Doncaster. Recorded history in the parish extends as far back as 730, when Bede wrote about the Northumbrian King, Edwin, being killed in battle in the area.

Dunsville is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, in the civil parish of Hatfield. It lies on the A18 road between Hatfield and Edenthorpe.

St Lawrence's Church is the parish church of Hatfield, South Yorkshire, which lies north-east of Doncaster in England. The oldest parts of the church date from about 1150, with the arcades added in the 13th century, and the tower, transepts and east end added about 1400. The church suffered a fire in the 1760s. It was altered by Thomas Jackson in 1872, and restored by Edwin Dolby in 1882. It was Grade I listed in 1966. The oldest parts of the church are built of pebble, but most is of limestone from Roche Abbey. The church is cruciform in plan, with a five bay nave, three bay chancel, and a tower over the crossing. There is a porch to the south, and the chancel has both north and south chapels. The inner porch doorway is round-headed and dates from the 12th century, and the oak door is early. Most of the windows are Perpendicular, although there are three early lancets in the west end. There is a 15th-century clerestory. The tower displays the arms of the Savage family.Inside, the roofs are mostly 15th century, as is the intricate wooden chancel screen. The font has a base dating from about 1300, while the upper part is 19th century. There is a tablet dated 1695 which lists benefactions. The stained glass is mostly 19th century and designed by Charles Eamer Kempe, with a Millennium window added to the north transept in 2000. There is a dug-out chest made of bog oak, which is thought to date from the 12th century, and originally had ten locks. A suit of 16th century armour was formerly on display, but is now on long-term loan to the Royal Armouries Museum.

Hatfield Manor House is a remodelled 18th century Grade-I listed manor house in the town of Hatfield near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, which is based on an originally 12th century building.The building is constructed of roughcast ashlar and brick with a Welsh slate roof. It is built to a T-shaped plan in 2 and 3 storeys.The building is not open to the public. The entrance is marked by two modern gatehouses on Manor Road and the early 18th century stables are clearly visible from the road.
