West Side Career and Technology Center (formerly West Side Area Vocational-Technical School) is a full-time Career and Technology Center located in Luzerne County at 75 Evans Street, Pringle, Pennsylvania. The school is home to students of Wyoming Valley West, Dallas, Northwest, Wyoming Area, and Lake-Lehman school districts in the 2008-2009 school year. The current principal is Rick Rava. The administrative director is Thomas Duffy from Dallas School District, who replaced the retired Thomas Viviano. Viviano replaced Nancy Tkatch, who resigned during the 2013–2014 school year amid an investigation into fraudulent uses of the school credit cards.

Wyoming Valley West School District encompasses approximately 14 square miles. According to 2000 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 44,510. In 2009, the residents' per capita income was $17,532 while the median family income was $40,398. Wyoming Seminary, founded in 1844, is a Methodist college preparatory school located in the Wyoming Valley of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The "Lower School," which consists of preschool - 8th-grade students, is located in Forty Fort. The "Upper School," comprising 9th-grade to postgraduate students, is located in Kingston. It is near the Susquehanna River and the city of Wilkes-Barre. Locally and in some publications, it is sometimes referred to as "Sem." As a boarding school, only Upper School students may board on campus. Slightly more than one-third of the Upper School student body resides on campus.

Huntsville Creek is a tributary of Toby Creek in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 7.5 miles (12.1 km) long and flows through Dallas Township, Dallas, Lehman Township, Jackson Township, and Kingston Township. The watershed of the creek has an area of 14.7 square miles (38 km2). It is designated as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery. Wisconsinan Till, Wisconsinan Ice-Contact Stratified Drift, alluvium, sandstone and shale pits, and bedrock consisting of sandstone and shale all occur in the watershed. A 2-billion gallon reservoir known as the Huntsville Reservoir is situated on the creek. The reservoir supplies water to 30,000 people. The creek has one named tributary, which is known as Browns Creek.

WEZX programming is simulcast on WPZX 105.9 FM in Pocono Pines, Pennsylvania, WFUZ 1240 AM in Wilkes-Barre, and on seven translators. The station's programming is also available via streaming on the station's website. WEZX uses HD Radio, and simulcasts sister station WQFM on its HD2 subchannel and WEJL on its HD3 subchannel. The HD4 subchannel is leased to JMJ Catholic Radio, a regional Catholic radio network.

WFUZ (1240 kHz) is an AM radio station in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. It simulcasts the classic rock radio format of WEZX in Scranton, filling in the gaps in WEZX's signal outside Lackawanna County. It is owned by Times-Shamrock Communications of Scranton.

Its neighbors are Wyoming (to the north), Plains Township (to the east), Kingston (to the south), and Swoyersville (to the west). The Wilkes-Barre Wyoming Valley Airport and the Wyoming Seminary Lower School are both located in the borough.
