His Majesty's Prison Holme House is a Category C men's prison, located in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. The prison is operated by His Majesty's Prison & Probation Service.

Tilery is a housing estate in Stockton-on-Tees within the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and the ceremonial county of County Durham, England. It is situated to the north of the town centre and is located next to the Portrack housing estate. The area of Tilery is much smaller than Portrack. Tilery has a small row of shops which run along the border of Norton Road. There is one school in Tilery, the Tilery Primary School which is located in St Ann's Terrace. HM Prison Holme House is situated to the east of the estate. There were a number of pubs located within Tilery such as the Wild Ox and the Blue Nile which have now closed. In 2015, the area was the second setting in the controversial show Benefits Street. The show primarily filmed on the Kingston Road area of Tilery. Benefits Street has been labelled by critics as "Poverty Porn". One resident of the Tilery estate was critical of the show saying “It’s not just those who are taking part in the show who will be labelled, we all will. When the kids go to school and tell their friends where they are from, or when someone applies for a job and the employer sees the address, it’s almost inevitable that they will be prejudged". The Guardian newspaper described the area as the most deprived ward in Stockton-on-Tees, saying the estate is plagued by high unemployment, low pay and poor health.Neil Maxwell who was one of the residents featured in the Benefits Street show was jailed for life in 2019 with a minimum term of 30 years as a result of the murder of Lee Cooper. Maxwell, along with an accomplice named Luke Pearson, had brutally beaten Cooper in what the judge called "a rampage of violence".

Portrack is an east Stockton area in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. It is close to Billingham opposite Thornaby and just west of Middlesbrough. The area is a large industrial and business part of Stockton, these are mainly centred on Portrack Lane. Stockton Cricket Club once played at the now former Portrack Lane cricket ground. It was home to a number of pubs such as the Prince of Wales, the Portrack Social Club known locally as the Blood Tub, the Cricketers Arms and the Royal Hotel which have all since closed. The only pub left in the area is the Portrack Hotel.

Portrack Lane was a cricket ground in Stockton-on-Tees, Durham. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1839, when Stockton played an All-England Eleven. The ground also hosted two first-class matches, the first of which was in 1858 when a combined Yorkshire and Durham team played Nottinghamshire. The second and final first-class match to be played on the ground came in 1861, when Yorkshire with Stockton-on-Tees played Cambridgeshire.The final recorded match on the ground saw Stockton play a United South of England Eleven. Shortly after this the ground ceased to be used for cricket matches. The ground was located at the far western end of Portrack Lane. By 1899, an iron works had been built on the ground, with the site today is occupied by an industrial estate and a gas holder. Portrack Lane is now primarily known as a major shopping area / complex in Stockton on Tees Asda have had a large superstore on Portrack Lane since 1970. The old store was replaced by a larger new store with a petrol filling station in May 2008. The old building was subsequently demolished.

St Mary's Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. It was built in 1842 and designed by Augustus Pugin in the Gothic Revival style. According to Historic England, the current building was first permanent Roman Catholic church to be built in Teesside since the Reformation. It is located in the town centre, on the corner of Norton Road and Major Street, with the A1305 road to the north of it. It is a Grade II listed building.

Tees Rowing Club is a rowing club based on the River Tees in Northeast England. The club was founded in 1864.The Roll of Honour at the club includes 2012 Olympic Gold medal winner Kat Copeland and 2016 Paralympic Gold medal winner Laurence Whiteley.The club is currently based at the River Tees Watersports Centre in Stockton-on-Tees.

Norton, also known as Norton-on-Tees, is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees, in County Durham, England. The suburbs of Roseworth and Ragworth are notable areas of the town. Billingham Beck is to the east of the town, the beck flows to the south-east. The town also contains the areas of Wolviston and Wynyard which are to the north of the town and are wards of the town. The town had a population of 20,829 in the 2011 Census.The area's centre dates back to at least the Anglo-Saxon period. It was the centre of an ancient parish that once included the chapelry of Stockton, which became its own ancient parish in 1713 which was three years after Stockton was granted a market charter. It became a part of Teesside County Borough in 1968, which was abolished in 1974, it has not been parished since.

The Infinity Bridge is a public pedestrian and cycle footbridge across the River Tees in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees in northern England. The bridge is situated one kilometre downriver of Stockton town centre, between the Princess of Wales Bridge and the Tees Barrage. It connects the Teesdale Business Park and the University of Durham's Queen's Campus in Thornaby-on-Tees on the south bank of the Tees with the Tees Valley Regeneration's £320 million North Shore development on the north bank.Built at a cost of £15 million with funding from Stockton Borough Council, English Partnerships and its successor body the Homes and Communities Agency, One NorthEast, and the European Regional Development Fund the bridge is a major part of the North Shore Redevelopment Project undertaken by Tees Valley Regeneration. The bridge had the project title North Shore Footbridge before being given its official name Infinity Bridge, chosen by a panel of representatives from the funding bodies, from a pool of names suggested by the public.The name derives from the infinity symbol ( ∞ {\displaystyle \infty } ) formed by the bridge and its reflection.

The Princess of Wales Bridge, sometimes referred to as the Diana Bridge or the Princess Diana Bridge, is a dual carriageway road bridge named after the late Diana, Princess of Wales. It carries Council of Europe Boulevard across the River Tees, Northern England. Teesdale Business Park in Thornaby is to the south and to the north is the north east of Stockton town centre (at the north end of Riverside Road at a gyratory system). It is in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees.

Tees Valley Regeneration was an urban regeneration company covering the Tees Valley area of North East England and at one time was the largest urban development agency in England. The headquarters were at Cavendish House, Teesdale Business Park in Thornaby-on-Tees. Tees Valley Regeneration started in 2002, operated for seven years under the leadership of Joe Docherty, who left the organisation in 2009, and closed in 2010; responsibility for regeneration was transferred to local councils.

Red House School is a co-educational private day school in Norton, Stockton-on-Tees, in the north-east of England.Nursery, Reception and Year 1 are located in a purpose-built unit, whilst Years 2, 3 and 4 are in a Georgian Vicarage. The Preparatory School and Senior School are in a manor house.In 2010 Red House came 1st in the independent secondary school with no sixth form category in The Sunday Times Parent League Tables 2010. A school's place in the Sunday Times league tables is determined by the percentage of its students who achieve A - C grades at GCSE, and A and B grades at A level. In 2019, the school achieved a 99% A*-C grade across all GCSE results.

The Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing is an interdisciplinary research centre within Durham University. It is based at the university's Queen's Campus in Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees.The institute's core staff comprises an Executive Director, Co-Directors, and ECR Director and an Institute Manager who handles the administration of the institute. The team are responsible for supporting both a fellowship and Early Career Researcher program that comprises Durham academics/researchers whose research focuses on interdisciplinary research in health and wellbeing as well as the application of health research on society. External Honorary Professors and Fellows are appointed on the basis of their seniority and collaboration with the institute. The institute's management board is composed of academic members of the university who represent their departments, ECR and College reps and is chaired by the Executive Director.
