Veckenstedt

Nordharz ("north Harz") was a Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") in the district of Harz, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It was situated north of the Harz mountain range and the town of Wernigerode. The seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was in Veckenstedt. It was disbanded on 1 January 2010.

Ilsenburg (German: [ˈɪlzn̩ˌbʊʁk] ) is a town in the district of Harz, in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. It is situated under the north foot of the Harz Mountains, at the entrance to the Ilse valley with its little river, the Ilse, a tributary of the Oker, about six 6 miles (9.7 km) north-west of the town of Wernigerode. It received town privileges in 1959. Owing to its surrounding of forests and mountains as well as its position on the edge of the Harz National Park, Ilsenburg is a popular tourist resort. Since 2002, it is officially an air spa.

The Stapelburg (German: Burg Stapelburg) is a ruined mediæeval castle built to guard the road on the northern edge of the Harz mountains at Stapelburg in the district of Harz in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.

The Ilsenburg Factory is a protected historical monument in Ilsenburg in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. The building complex is from around 1840 and was the seat of the upper Administration of the princely smelting works. Today, the buildings are used as residences. In neoclassical style, the building material was Rogenstein (a term describing a specific type of oolite in which the cementing matter is argillaceous). The four buildings are each two stories, arranged around a courtyard. Except for the northern house, where the facades are unpaved.

Nordharz (literally "North Harz") is a municipality in the district of Harz, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The municipal area consists of eight Ortschaften or municipal divisions: The administrative seat is located in Veckenstedt. The municipality was formed in the course of an administrative reform on 1 January 2010 by merging seven municipalities of the former Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") Nordharz with the municipality of Danstedt, formerly part of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Harzvorland-Huy.
